david panton, partner of julie bishop (i think she is western australian) runs pantonic health which supplies most of WA's rat .

Yes, she's a West Australian, but she was in the Liberal Party.

And, she's not in the WA state government - she left politics before COVID started.  She was in federal politics.

Moreover, she split up with Panton at least eight months ago.

Having said that, I'd be the last person in the world to defend Ms. Bishop, and if something shifty is going on here I would not be surprised in the slightest.

Pity the WA government didn't spend all of that money - well, some of it at least - on (high quality) masks instead of all those RAT's.

Masks don't work why do Branch Covidians ignore the science on this?

You said your doctor stopped wearing a mask perhaps he read the Cochrane report and accepted the real science on masks.

The money spent on RAT and masks was wasted they should have spent the money on improving hospitals.

Oh, and a public education campaign on how to wear them properly.

Among the very few people I saw still wearing masks at Belmont Forum today there were one or two wearing surgical 'baggy blues' in chin nappy/warmer or dick nose 'mode'.  Roll Eyes

Just read that WA paid $500 million for RATs that are now stocked in their millions in warehouses around WA.

Laughable when they'd only allocated $3 million.

What a nanny state!

There's a rumour going around that 'Sneakers' McGowan could be giving everyone another credit towards their power bills to help with cost of living expenses in the upcoming State Budget.

We might not be getting it now after the cost 'blowout' (and that would have to be the understatement of the year) with all of those RAT's.

Yep, half a bil to keep Carl and his elderly aunt 'safe'.

The millions of unused ones will be landfill.

Maybe Carl can direct traffic from his motorised trolley while they dump them in the Swan River.

Looks like Mark wasn't the only one to 'stock up' on too many RAT's.

Victorian Department of Health

Quote:
Did you know you can get free rapid antigen tests?

Get ready for winter and collect free tests from your local council for you and your family.

Rapid antigen tests are quick and effective, especially when you have symptoms.

"Get ready for winter"

By the time winter 'officially' arrives (June 1st) I wouldn't be surprised if most or all of these 'stockpiled' RAT's are expired.

Which is no doubt why Dan is giving them away for free so his government doesn't need to go to the trouble and expense of getting rid of them. Just like Mark has done here in WA.

And besides, they're almost useless for detecting Covid anyway, especially the latest variants.

I took my mother to her GP yesterday, and the medical centre wasn't running too well - long waits, low on staff etc.

When I spoke to my mother's GP I was told that one of the admin staff's father had died from COVID two days ago and that one of the nurses tested positive yesterday.

Guess how many doctors. nurses, admin staff were wearing masks.  Zero.

Unbelievable isn't it?

Just like my aunt's medical practice (same place where my GP is) when I took her there for her flu shot last month.

3 receptionists - no masks.

3 or 4 GP's that I saw going in and out of their offices - no masks (one may have had a 'baggy blue' being used as a chin warmer).

My aunt's GP - no mask (last time we saw her late last year she was still wearing a high quality mask like ours).

My aunt and I were the only ones masked apart from one or two of the patients in the waiting area.

At least it wasn't as bad as when I last took my aunt there in November and the first thing the maskless receptionist said to us was "you don't need to wear those (masks) anymore".

Then I went to see my GP in December and one of the 3 maskless receptionists was hacking up a lung and blowing her nose every minute or two.

And all of this was going on while a "Masks must be worn inside this practice" sign was still on the front door (it's gone now, of course).
