"Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and WA’s top doctor, Dr Andy Robertson, have joined forces"And what a great 'meeting of minds' that must have been.
A Health Minister who knows more about business and hospitality than she does about health and a Chief Health Officer who's almost as useless as aquascoot's hero in Queensland (he's a lot less 'outspoken' than Dr. Gerrard but that's probably because Mark McGowan has him on a tighter 'leash' - like the rest of Australia's Premiers do with their CHO's).
Mind you, Dr. Gerrard has been a bit quiet lately as well so I wouldn't be surprised if Annastacia has tightened the 'leash' on him too.
Quote:Dr Robertson said, “the best way to avoid getting the flu is to get a vaccination”.
No it isn't - the vaccinations help to a certain extent but they don't stop you catching and spreading the flu (or Covid). Just say it, d*head -
wear a high quality mask. The last time my elderly aunt and I had the flu was in 2019. We'd both had our flu vaccinations and we both caught the flu twice... and it was bad for us both times.
Quote:“I also have some other very simple messages for the community this winter. If you are sick, stay home. Wash or sanitise your hands regularly, cover coughs, and, importantly, get vaccinated against flu and COVID-19,” Dr Robertson said.
Yep, just keep washing and sanitising those hands and I'm sure everything will be fine (if the government's plan is to continue the 'culling' of the elderly and vulnerable to save more money on pensions and healthcare costs).
I
still feel sorry for the elderly people I see every time I go to Belmont Forum who dilgently sanitise their hands and shopping trolley handles (with the sanitiser helpfully provided at the entrances to Coles and Woolies) but never wear a mask. Especially when other people are coughing and sneezing nearby.
Heard a little kid constantly hacking up a lung in Woolies at Maddington Central on Saturday afternoon. I didn't see the kid or the parent(s) but I'm sure they must have been thinking that it was all perfectly normal. And I'll bet they weren't wearing masks.
