Oh, and riddle me this.

If our Federal and State governments want everyone to believe that "Covid is over" or it's now "just a cold" (even to the point where Covid isn't even mentioned in multi million dollar vaccination advertising campaigns) why is it that every time I receive a home visit from someone working for our governments in relation to my aunt's falls - My Aged Care, Rehabilitation In The Home, Social Workers, etc., when they call to make the appointment time they ALWAYS ask if we have Covid or any symptoms?

Why is that, I wonder? I'm sure they never used to ask if people had a cold or the flu before Covid arrived on the scene. So, if Covid is supposed to be "over" or "just a cold" then why do they need to ask?

I've never thought of asking any of these people why up until now... I'll have to remember to ask next time they need to come and see us.

I'm sure the replies will be interesting, to say the least.  Undecided

Took my next door neighbour down to Royal Perth Hospital this morning for the next session in his ongoing cancer treatments.

Went back and picked him up a couple of hours later and on the way home he was telling me about all the signs everywhere at RPH saying masks MUST be worn but were any of the staff or visitors wearing them? Nope (apart from a "baggy blue" surgical seen here and there... with some of those being worn under the nose or chin, of course).

However, the staff in the cancer treatment area were all wearing masks (baggy blues again which are not exactly designed for stopping viruses but better than nothing, I guess?).

Honestly, what hope is there of stopping Covid, flu and other respiratory illnesses when staff and visitors in major hospitals like RPH won't even wear masks when required to do so and there's no enforcement whatsoever? And we've just started another Covid wave (endless waves of Covid) Australia wide.

This is all caused by another (deliberate) failure by our governments who are still trying to maintain the illusion that Covid is over or, at worst, it's now "just a cold".

Disgraceful stuff.

You're right, it is disgraceful.

I'm just glad I don't have to go to RPH anymore.

I miss my mother and father, but I don't miss my trips to RPH with them.

I'm still amazed that I never caught COVID, despite all the time I spent in that place over the last three years.

I guess I have my vaccinations to thank for that.

Hmm, Perth seems to be 'bucking the trend' regarding Covid at the moment (assuming we're not being lied to - which would not surprise me).

And, I'm sure another new variant will be arriving soon from overseas - if it hasn't already.

Wastewater testing shows another drop. Except for Aged Care.

Latest C19 wastewater report for Perth, Western Australia - up to 3 Jan '25. Pleasing to see downward trend, incl. over Xmas/NY.

Note that aged care cases (residents + staff) have risen since then (see next tweet).

Western Australia:
C19 hospitalisations now up 41% from mid-Dec ’24.

Looks like C19 remains dangerous in 2025.
Even in summer.
Even if rarely mentioned.

Yes. Yes it does.

As usual - you can see the testing numbers (yellow line) in the attached graph are almost non existent. Just what the government likes to see.

Oh, dear.

https://archive.md/7y3a0

This was also in today's The West Australian, a small piece on the front page followed by the full story on pages 10 and 11.

When I saw this I immediately thought "Ah, they've finally woken up and they're going to warn parents about their kids (and themselves) getting repeated infections from a dangerous SARS virus that affects the brain and other body organs".

Silly me.  Roll Eyes

Here's some replies in that X thread:

Please for the love of god don’t blame lockdowns. Wa had 7 weeks and then only a few days here and there.  We did not have hard lockdown.

So... were the lockdowns in WA 5 years long?

Jan 28, 2025 · 4:19 AM UTC

All part of the ongoing whitewashing of (Covid) history by our governments and the media.

But, I'm sure the majority of the population will lap up this BS and they'll "know" what to blame (lockdowns, not Covid) when their kids start failing at school in the coming years. Unbelievable.
