Hi Aqua,
when I was boy -
a very long time ago -
people used to die at the age of say 55
and people would say "that person died of old age."
Even the newspapers would say that.
There were no reasons given such as
coronary artery embolism etc.
Old age used to kill people.
Now - people are on a dozen medications per day
and they can keep them alive until 85 or 90
but of course they end up for years in nursing homes
unable to move - being taken out of bed and put
into wheel chairs using a crane.
Are we really doing the right thing?
They are probably living longer because of better diet, less smoking, and better OHS practices in the workforce
Nail, I don't think our diet is better.
I think bobby is right.
More and more tablets to keep people alive.
And those tablets make big pharma companies a fortune.
Most of the medications are paid for by the taxpayer.
Most are taken by the old and frail .
Big pharma is a major donor to doctors and governments.
I think that's why a lot of governments are reluctant to pass voluntary euthanasia laws.
It would cost big pharma a fortune.
And now big pharma gets to make 100s of billions by selling vaccines, maybe 6 monthly
And all to protect big pharmas cash cows....the old frail diabetic with heart disease.
And they closed gyms in brisbane because of one case.
But left maccas open
Something is telling me, big money and paid for politicians want to keep the cash cow growing
