The ABC should be unbiased because it is PUBLICLY FUNDED. It's in the charter. It must NOT be biased.
A private media outlet can be as biased as it can afford to be but that's not the case for a PUBLIC broadcaster. You did know that the ABC is public, didn't you, Bbwian, or have I surprised you with the news?

I think it is the nature of who gravitates to public funded institutions. They bring their natural bias with them.

It will always been the way.

I think there is no solution really. if they didn't recognize "Invasion Day" they would be called insensitive to this movement. The leadership, Ita needs to stop trying to be PC.

What we don't want is government interference in the ABC. Then we get RT.
If they are free to state BS, we get Fox.

Personally I think they should call it "Australian Day" only unless the government proclaims it to be called something else. Appeasing the minority is not their role.

I blame pollical correctness movement. The ABC is full of PC wannabes, it is in their nature.

The original maps were lost in an earthquake and fire in the 18th century but records still exist.
