I unfortunately forgot to get more, but was just in a WHS meeting at work and someone mentioned they'd gotten the jab yesterday

Australians’ reluctance to be vaccinated on the rise

https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/australians-reluctance-to-be-vaccinated-on-...

Quote:
Rising levels of hesitancy and outright opposition to being vaccinated against coronavirus threaten to delay the population gaining herd immunity, with only two-thirds of Australians now certain they will get jabbed.

In yesterday's West Australian newspaper the comment was made (can't recall if it was in an article or a letter to the editor) that there might not be so much resistance to getting the vaccine if everyone stopped referring to it as the jab or getting jabbed.

I agree. It doesn't create a good mental image for a lot of people, especially people like the ones who turned toilet paper hoarding into a 'national sport' during the past 12 months.

I’m still undecided as the 5 questions seem a bit scary but
then again – getting Covid is also scary.

5 questions to ask your friends who plan to get the Covid vaccine.

https://off-guardian.org/2021/02/15/5-questions-to-ask-your-friends-who-plan-to-...

1.      Did you know that we have NEVER successfully vaccinated against ANY coronavirus?
2.      Did you know it usually takes 5-10 years to fully develop a vaccine?
3.      Did you know that the Covid “vaccine” is based on new technology, which has never been approved for use on humans before?
4.      Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies can’t be sued if the vaccine hurts or kills someone?
5.      Did you know 99.8% of people survive Covid-19?

Don't worry, Bobby.

Our fearless leader (lol) is having the vaccine “very, very soon”.

PM will have Pfizer vaccine ‘very, very soon’
By Mary Ward and Rachel Clun

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he will be rolling up his sleeve to get a coronavirus vaccine “very, very soon”, flagging he will be vaccinated early in the rollout to boost public confidence.

Mr Morrison, 52, does not fit into the high-risk groups in phase 1a of the federal government’s rollout strategy, who will start to receive their vaccines on Monday. Instead, Mr Morrison was slated to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine during phase 2a of the rollout.
However, Mr Morrison told reporters in Sydney that he and Chief Health Officer Paul Kelly would receive the Pfizer vaccine soon, while state premiers and federal Health Minister Greg Hunt will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine when it is made available from next month.

Federal Health Department secretary Brendan Murphy has also previously indicated he would receive the AstraZeneca vaccine.

“It is important for us as leaders – and this is my health advice that I demonstrate,” Mr Morrison said.

“I’m happy to get it: I think it is important people understand it is safe. There is no way I can say that more than rolling up my sleeve and getting the vaccination.”

See, there's nothing to worry about. Just trust Scotty from Marketing. Smiley

Exactly!
And.... then if we choose not to... we will be made to feel we are responsible for Covid ... how the tables will turn to make us the people take blame and not the real perpetrators...
Very crafty that.

1.      Did you know that we have NEVER successfully vaccinated against ANY coronavirus?

We are now.

2.      Did you know it usually takes 5-10 years to fully develop a vaccine?

Yes, this one was in development since SARS.

3.      Did you know that the Covid “vaccine” is based on new technology, which has never been approved for use on humans before?

yes.
At one stage mobile phones were new technology too.

4.      Did you know that the pharmaceutical companies can’t be sued if the vaccine hurts or kills someone?

Do antivaxxers get sued because someone did not get a vaccine and dies?

5.      Did you know 99.8% of people survive Covid-19?

I heard 1 - 3% die. Many more will have a dreadful time with lasting detrimental effects.

I find it interesting that this is reported ...
(Washington Post)

Rate of new coronavirus cases declining around the world, WHO says. The number of new coronavirus cases has declined by 16 percent worldwide over the past week, the World Health Organization said, even as more virulent strains of the virus spurred outbreaks in multiple regions.

It was predicted that it would take up to 2 years for these virus strains to then disappear as did the Spanish flu.

It will be a coincidence with the decline of the virus running its course and the roll out of the vaccine.

Australia does not have a Covid problem bar the stupid lack of due care with quarantined overseas visitors.

Much the same with New Zealand.

It’s the rest of the world, not us!!
