Dear L J, When thinking about this queer little digital coven we need to keep in mind it's essentially anarchistic structure. Individual moderators in charge of their own sections often act with total autonomy without bothering to discuss their ‘rules’ with other moderators.
When the internet was a baby and forums were a shiny new invention the majority of forums were overseen by a group of moderators who never acted alone but always discussed policy decisions with their associates. Welcome to the new anarchy petal. A closer look at the ‘rules’ will fail to reveal the rampant idiocy often inflicted on this place.

There are choices.

1. Don't post an armchair physiological diagnose of another poster, or

2. If you choose to do so, you may but you lose your privacy to me.

3. Anyone with half a neuron, let alone a relevant degree would immediately realise that posting a diagnosis of an on-line character is not worth giving up privacy.

The Rule is intended to stamp out the armchair crap which might be harmful to the target, but allows for a way IF you want to lose your privacy.

Oh god if only. As a person with some degree of expertise on the subject, i find the spurious diagnoses of posters on here highly problematic. Rhino and North of North are the worst for it. Someone disagrees with them and they get a diagnosis.

It's not how it works.

You cannot diagnose over a forum such as this. You can certainly point out traits ... but you cannot diagnose an anonymous poster who is probably not even representing their true selves with a mental health condition..

I know Setanta has problems with this distinction. Perhaps i have made it clear enough for even him this time? I'm not optimistic.
