A person with antisocial personality disorder will have a history of conduct disorder during childhood, such as truancy (not going to school), delinquency (for example, committing crimes or substance misuse), and other disruptive and aggressive behaviours.

Sounds like my father. He does not repeatedly break the law. But, he had behaviour problems as a child. I would characterise him as having a defiant personality disorder. And he does "exploit, manipulate or violate the rights of others". And last week, he showed "lack concern, regret or remorse about other people's distress". I was going to take an ambulance up to hospital. He was more concerned about his own self image rather than my immediate health. I was drink spiked. His concern was that I was drinking again. Deflective behaviour from what I term him being an "alcoholic".

Dad "behave irresponsibly and show disregard for normal social behaviour". How many people do you know are more about trying to tell off people for asking how their night was? He also shows a lack of basic hygiene, other than his daily shower. Dad seems to have a bit of a Al Bundy complex.

"Have difficulty sustaining long-term relationships" -- let's just say that myself and my brother are both single (allegedly) because Dad disrupts our relationships with our girlfriends. Any girlfriends I have had have been scared off by Dad's misogynistic ways.

"Be unable to control their anger" -- no doubt Dad is hypersensitive.

"Lack guilt, or not learn from their mistakes" -- I have not seen a change in my father's personality for a good 30 something years.

"Blame others for problems in their lives" -- Mum cheated on Dad. She did not sleep with another guy. She had a meal out with a co-worker. Dad found out. Now, he does not like any female who asserts herself.

I cannot tell my father that he is actually a great-grandfather, simply because he is willing to make myself homeless to pay off the child support for my own daughter (which I have said I have already paid), if he finds out who she is.

If Dad was given the choice of getting $50 now, or $200 tomorrow, he would accept the $50. He does not plan for the future.
