Melbourne is cold in winter but not as cold as near Hobart.

Hobart is at 43 degrees South in latitude,
Melbourne is at 38 degrees South -
that's a whole 5 degrees difference in latitude.

However you're at 23 degrees South which is at the edge of the equator.

I will explain it to you very easily. Brisbane is just over 600km south of here (Rockhampton). Brisbane is 25.4 degrees south of the Equator. It gets hotter here in summer. Although, it is colder here in winter.

Melbourne is 5 degrees north of Hobart. Although, Monk has said that he lives outside of Hobart near the sea. In either event, he is still living in an area that is sheltered from cold winds, due to the Central Plateau region. Melbourne is not sheltered from cold winds in winter. That is why Melbourne is colder than Hobart. You would need a direct southerly blast of cold air to have very cold conditions. If Socks was subjected to snowy conditions, you could bet that Monk would keep her indoors much of the time. Even Marmalutes are known to feel the cold of winter.

I would say that this obsession with Socks is some kind of deflection away from your own failures, Bobby. Seemingly the trait of someone antisocial trying to misdirect attention away. Perhaps if you took notice that most of Australia does not get all that cold in winter, you would understand that concerning yourself with the welfare of one particular dog in Tasmania is not all that much of an issue.

I went to Hobart one November and to the hills to the West.
It was nice around lunchtime for a time of around 2 to 3 hours
but it fell to 4 degrees at night.
After I returned to Melbourne I was sent pictures of the whole area
I had seen which was covered in snow - yes in November!

Monk only got a jumper for Socks cause I told him to.
I'm like that - I look after members here and give them good advice.

despite me mentioning time after bloody time that Socks is quite happy here, we have been for a toilet walk when it was -2°C with Socks not showing a sign of being cold and that dogs, moving in their sleep would lose the blanket over their body?
