There is nothing wrong with being a useful idiot in a productive and successful game
The operative word is
idiot.
You have to be an idiot before you can be a winner
The arrogant leftie intellectual elite with their smug superiority fail to recognise this
In the end the hard-working industrious Chinaman who is willing to make the brutal sacrifice
Will always stunt in the faces of the soft smug hypocritical western Urban intellectual elite
Prove me wrong North
You and the others like you
Dip into your super
And start a factory that produces iPhones clothes shoes white goods pharmaceuticals
Employ White Knight and spot of Borg
And get back to us with your stunning success
If you're not willing to do that
Just bow down and admire people that are
It's something like Groundhog Day with you.
After a few weeks you restart the tractor and plough the same field, whether it needs ploughing or not.
Chinese people are known for their relentless industriousness and capacity for hard work. There'd be few who would deny that and I'm not one who does.
If anything accounts for China's progress from 1980, after Mao had left the nation in ruins and Deng had hauled the regime off the 'narrow path to success' (to borrow your phrase), it was the Chinese people themselves.
And they would have reached the stars under democratic liberalism and have easily been the most respected and greatest democracy on earth and actually would have pulled off a genuine miracle without the sinister backstories as Japan did.
However, it was not to be that easy.
When the regime under Deng realised that the Chinese people really did not need the regime to thrive (beyond anyone's imagination), he knew it had to be stopped.
And when the Chinese people realised that they could succeed beyond anyone's imagination under a liberal democracy, they began to demand one.
That was when the regime struck... They threw the baby out of the bathwater and the enlightened youth under the tanks at Tiananmen Square.
There was to be no economic 'miracle' that this brutal regime would allow unless it maintained absolute control over the enlightened millions and crushed their democratic aspirations; not for the good of the people, but for their own murderous and narcissistic need for control (and, no doubt, from a fear of accountability for the crimes apparatchiks certainly have and would likely have to answer for under a democratic government).
However, for some time, things remained liberal enough to pull off a partial miracle, but much less than the people themselves could have achieved (in the same way Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea have done).
Xi Jinping is reversing all that and is returning China to hardline Maoism.
As for building anything big in China, nothing gets started unless the entrepreneur bends the knee to the regime and understands that his/her success exists only at the pleasure of the regime. And for that they will get a ready supply of slave workers or people working at slave-pay rates mostly sourced from impoverished rural areas and forbidden from becoming a part of city life by various regime-imposed restrictions.
And when the entrepreneur falls out with the regime he is gone-gone and his property and wealth confiscated.
996… Heard of it? People in China are expected to work from 9am to 9pm 6 days a week.
If I were to start up a factory under the regime I could 'employ' White Knight and spot of Borg and thousands of others and have them slaving virtually for little to no wages.
I could even get away with not paying them at all to meet regime quotas and/or to stay afloat. They would be living in concrete boxes and forbidden from doing anything in their ‘free time’ except walking around the compound.
The regime exploits slave labour the way Stalin’s gulags and Hitler’s concentration camps did.
And that’s just the start of it. Dissidents can be used for their organs, reportedly sometimes extracted from the victim without anaesthetic.
To support this regime is to have supported Stalin and Hitler.
If that’s who you are, you don’t deserve to live in Australia.
that sounds like an exageration.
the ughirs for example are a primitive people with no skills.
they get paid, they get skills, they learn the language.
they come out at the other snd, integrated, educated and with skills .
stop pretending that the chinese exploit their people.
their people are getting richer and richer and richer.
they dominate ivy league and western universities.
