Having had a couple of terms myself it can be very unrewarding as there are so many different opinions on how the place should be run.

BO did what she said she would do and she was re-elected.

I think the real issue is that there is a diminishing population of eligible voters due to people dropping from the forum and bans. Also there was in the last 2 elections, if I recall correctly, very few people put up their hands to run. So BO stayed on for the benefit of the forum. Also she was reelected to keep things as they were. That she has.

I think the mounting criticism of BO is unfounded and the criticism is more about that an EL was elected that some people didn't agree with her policies, but they were what she was elected on. All we can expect from an elected EL is to implement the manifesto they were elected on. Surely.

The root of the problem is the population of eligible voters now is small and not diversified. The that is, the election process will only elect more of the same due to the DNA of the pool of voters.

I have not seen the candidates manifesto yet, but I am for opening up the forum more, giving those banned a chance to rejoin and if they carry on destroying the forum, the new EL does what they will with them including reinstituting bans.

However, the current PA group think is this bad because it will just return to a poo fight. I think those who are banned should at least recognize some distrust there motives for rejoining, particularly those that are known to seek its destruction. So there is a feeling that to open it up will lead to PA degrading further with nothing but shitfights designed to bring the forum down. Then we lose the small posters we have, the forum ends up a desert when the shitfighters have achieved their objective.

So how do we proceed. I see a cacth-22 here.

It will be interesting who is EL and what they will do.

I don't think letting people back and making the forum work are mutually exclusive provided the new EL is prepared to sort out those that behave in a forum destructive manner are dealt with swiftly. I am not for permanent bans. But like here the bans can start small and grow in duration as they do not learn .

Bullshit.

As EL her first duty is to the forum, not to the whims of select members. Having a gang of morons all dictate who should be allowed to post or not was never going to end well. Half the time she couldn't even stick to the rules as they existed ... instead she kept changing them to suit herself and her clique.

as for your 'if they continue to destroy the forum' .... thats exactly what the sewer rats have done. Bravo Cheesy

First duty is to the forum's health. That becomes a matter of from what perspective you see that.

If the voters deem a manifesto as the best for the forums health, then that is what is done for the next year.

You don't have to agree with it.

Well I guess we agree to disagree then.

The point is......that 'manisfesto' is a failure.  Undeniable.

Further, the Members there do not vote on manifestos....they vote tribally for anyone who will keep the banned people out, not because those people have done anything wrong....it is just because they don't 'like' them.

This present position was foreseeable and was foreseen by Monk, me and Mr Smith.

We told you so.

More of the same is not going to work.  It has failed and BO has failed.

Change is the only possible hope.

if you ban all the members you don't like and leave only the most absolute morons, thats never going to end well. Regardless of perspective. You don't have to like what a member says, or how he behaves (within certain parameters) or even how he says what he says  ... but you don't ban them for it. Forums thrive on differences of opinion. Try to dictate what a person says, or how they say it, and the forum dies.

You can argue all you want about what I agree with or don't agree with ... in the end, the proof is in the pudding ........ and right now the proof is showing that the pudding that is the sewer is rancid and no one is even willing to touch it.

We're not screwed, you all are.  for one am not worried since I can't post there anyway. I'm laughing. The fat lady is singing baby, and and BO is left hiding in the corner looking to allocate blame.

I'm just making sure everyone is aware of exactly why it has failed. This has all come about as a result of poor management ...processes and otherwise....  the same thing I was whinging about that led to my permanent ban in the first place. Imagine banning someone permanently because they disagreed with mods editing their posts   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy ... and now you are all acting surprised that it's  an absolute failure. Grin Grin Grin

Aussie's memory is showing signs of dementia yet again.   AiA did not “anoint me as his successor.”   SN came after AiA for a couple of terms then came Skippy.   I came after Skippy and at least I haven't been sacked twice which is actually the epitome of failure.  Aussie is also the master of the ban button here yet demands to be unbanned at PA.   Lol.  Just Lol.

Red I don't know why you complain about Smith so much when it was only your Smith emulating posts that were moved (not removed),  The only difference being there is no swear filter at PA so you could change it up between “You're an idiot”, “moron” and “fukwit”.

When I took over PA there were only three discussion threads there.   Three!   I made many more to try to encourage discussion and get away from this juvenile cross forum tribal shyt you lot carry on with but none of you can let it go.  Look at the threads here at OzPol.   The only ones that gain traction are the ones the same half a dozen of you idiots pile into to talk about other member and put people down like a gang of nasty retarded little mongs.

IQ should return to PA and tell the remaining female members they should be raped with barbed wire and broken bottles and you can all fight and gaggle on in ecstasy.   After all that was such 'fun' but you'll have to convince the new EL and even though I doubt multiple threads like this will be convincing, who knows?    It's better in one place than dragging the slime trail across multiple forums with the same people so I also agree PA should be opened up again and I'll even vote for it myself.  AiA's and IQ's votes were both counted last year so saying they didn't have a vote is just a lie but I am not unbanning trouble making morons during an election.

There's something seriously wrong with you old men and it's all ugly and you seriously think your 'contributions' actually enhance forums.   You're a joke!

If FD was consistent, you would be sacked for invading a Member's account to sort out a password issue, which is all I did to get sacked by him.  No matter who preceded you as Admin there, AiA anointed you.

Here come the excuses.  Whatever you did......FAILED.  You cannot deny it.

Well I have always been a strong critic of the stuff NOIQ posted but I observe how noticeably absent is your criticism of freediver posting that he hoped a woman got raped with a cactus.

What you fail to see is that the 'trouble making morons' are those you cosy up to at the sewer including an unrepentant gloating doxxer.

Sure...you keep telling yourself that you fart perfume and crap icecream, but the fact remains...your Administration of that place has been a foreseeable/foreseen and abysmal failure.  Take your bat and ball and just piss off.

So......there is this gem among that pile of self righteous excretia.

Quote:
I also agree PA should be opened up again and I'll even vote for it myself.

How funny is that?  There she is urging exactly what she has refused to implement over about three years.  Why did she not support Super Nova and others when they also said that she should open up the cemetery?

Was it because she listened to the likes of the doxxer and her tag team?

You did not have faith in your own principles BO.  You became the muppet of cretins and did their 'toxic' bidding.

And look at what you have now.  A destroyed Forum falsely flying a flag of being the 'real PA.'

And now, when it is in the ICU and never likely to recover if it is 'more of the same,' you agree that you should have 'opened' the place up.

Well, let's see if you have the courage to campaign in open on that basis in the lead up to the vote.
