You think that highway patrol investigate burglary?

It’s not just highway patrol …. As one of the pollies said on tv news a couple days ago… RE: reluctance doing the ring of steel…”it uses up too many of our resources”…. And we all saw last ring of steel during lockdown…. Was many police officers, PLUS the ADF.

I do believe what is being set up is police vehicles at certain points, with number plate recognition contraption of some sort, to catch and fine anyone going over the 10km lockdown travel restriction limit…..  ka-ching!

Letter in today's West Australian is interesting and probably sheds a bit more light on why Melbourne and Victoria are the ones copping most of the Covid outbreaks and lockdowns.

So burglars and car thieves are not going to be driving ? Out on the roads largely by them selves with a high police presence checking everyone ? I would think no worse time to be travelling in a stolen car or carrying stolen goods ?

With the AV drug at about 63% at best it is likely ineffective against Covid. Yet we know with the Indian variant it is under 30% effective and not effective at all till a few weeks after the second shot.

Seen a report the other day that a child under 2 had caught the virus.

For sure. I was just pointing out it’s not about highway patrol that we’re doing the ring of steel.
I forgot to mention, he said a lot of booze buses will be set up also, to check on many motorists.

I see what Bobby meant, if all our police are at road junctions to stop or check legit traffic going interstate, it could be more tempting for burglary opportunity and not getting caught …whilst most police are away and pre-occupied.

So between the number plate detection cameras, and booze buses pulling you over to check in place instead, it should be a good deterrent,  especially with more people being stuck at home. But people are still going out in the droves to supermarkets and cake shops, take away food places, walks, and medical appointments.
I went for a medical appointment and the roads were still chokkas with traffic!
And finding a car park at super market car parking is a pain more during lockdown than at any other time!

something sderiously wrong with australia.

england  100,000 new cases last week, no lockdown

melbourne,  30 cases, lockdown.

questions need to be raised re the obsession with a virus the rest of the world is already accepting as the new norm

Yep - 5 new cases today and the whole state is locked down.
I'm in home imprisonment.

The only question one needs to ask is "when is the next Federal election due and what will happen to Scott Morrison and the Liberal Party at election time if Covid gets loose here in Australia before said election and causes thousands of deaths and more lockdowns?". (OK, I know - that's two questions).

Thousands of deaths of old people, I would assume, in the case of a considerable rise of coronavirus around the country.

The MSM is doing so badly.
ABC Q&A had only people on it that were singing loud praises for the vaccine -
no one there with a vaccine horror story.

I'm already fed up with house arrest in Victoria along
5.5 million other victims.
You wouldn't think the Govt. could keep on doing this when
we know it doesn't work in the long run -
it just leads to more house arrest.

Yes, of that I'm certain.

I'm also certain the majority of family and friends of these old people vote in elections. And, no doubt all of our politicians are also aware of that fact.

He has lost it but he has a valid point. Many more Melburnians must be on the tipping point with a probable 40 more days and 40 nights of lock down, by that time Dan will be back to administer another 40 more days and 40 nights of lock down.

some of those old people, no doubt, want to see their grandchildren flourish and will be very angry about the excessive restrictions demolishing their lives
