Yep - 5 new cases today and the whole state is locked down.
I'm in home imprisonment.

hi bobby,

australia is rolling thru the infections at the rate of 5 a day.
that should take us about 5 million days to get thru the population .

The MSM is doing so badly.
ABC Q&A had only people on it that were singing loud praises for the vaccine -
no one there with a vaccine horror story.

I'm already fed up with house arrest in Victoria along
5.5 million other victims.
You wouldn't think the Govt. could keep on doing this when
we know it doesn't work in the long run -
it just leads to more house arrest.

This guy has cracked up.

Get a load of this - Daniel's Doughnuts -
they are considered essential yet
a gymnasium was closed down and this
guy lost his job there.
He's not happy.

Victoria extends state of emergency
powers enabling lockdowns until July 1

...

The Victorian government has extended its power to enforce lockdowns, more than a year after the measure was originally brought in for a month.

The Victorian government has extended its state of emergency, the legal mechanism allowing it to take extraordinary measures to fight Covid-19 including lockdowns.

Health Minister Health Martin Foley extended the state of emergency last week to July 1.

He said it was extended “due to the ongoing serious risk to public health throughout Victoria”.

He consulted with chief health officer Brett Sutton and Emergency Management Commissioner Andrew Crisp before signing off on the order, he said.

The state of emergency has been in place in Victoria for over a year.

It first came into effect on March 16, 2020, and has been extended 17 times.

It was announced last March that it would be in place for four weeks.

He has lost it but he has a valid point. Many more Melburnians must be on the tipping point with a probable 40 more days and 40 nights of lock down, by that time Dan will be back to administer another 40 more days and 40 nights of lock down.

mmm doughnuts

Yes I said that earlier when Bobby first put that link, he raises a good point.
Gyms are closed yet how is donuts considered essential?
I did read reports here n there how people had excess drinking problems during lockdown.
Fatty foods, alcohol, restrictions on outdoor activities, closed gyms, weight gain, all lead to a lack lustre willingness to bother after 2 months then going into 4 months lockdown.
No get up and go. No job to go to. No meandering around shops just browsing yet walking and moving about for several hours.
No seeing family members (which really hurts) … FaceTime, phone calls isn’t the same as being with them and hugging, or cooking for them and being around the dining table together.

So yeah, physical health and mental health truly is affected.

But it’s all for our own good yeah? Being under “house arrest” as Bobby aptly puts it.

Everyone I talk to on fb, telephone, text, are saying … here we effn go again..  it’s become so ridiculous and starting to say it’s BS. Sort of a revolt in more and more minds are starting?  Now I saw a fb page titled “Leaving Victoria” is giving a good indication of Victorians being totally fed up with this sinkhole state.

If they were doing a good job then you wouldnt have a lockdown.

It's BECAUSE they're doing a good job that there's a lockdown.
And exactly how is letting the virus escape from quarantine doing a good job?

Socialism IS the answer.....

Not sure about that but Trump sure proved that Autocracy didn't work.

Okay, I had fruit salad for desert, the pineapple was a bit bitter, then I remembered back in 2000 in Fiji….how absolutely beautiful and sweet their pineapples were! I would go back for the pineapples!
Then I remembered something, many Indians live in Fiji and how it’s Fijians vs Indians. Neither like each other.
Now I thought…. hang on…. if this is an “Indian variant” then why has Fiji not been so effected then?
I see some cases are starting to come up in the last month after having zero a while.

Just thought I should bring it up for reason…. Keep an eye on Fiji.

Actively encouraging an insurrection with lies where people die is a fair stretch for freedom of speech.

Trump was actively encouraging the insurrection while it was happening, it wasn't about freedom of speech apparently Facebook were fine with everything up to that point.

Personally I think they should have put a stop to it well before it got to that point, it was always dangerous.

but what about lefties encouraging things like socialism in venezuela.
both AOC and Bernie have advocated for the venezuelan system where 1000's of people have starved once they were deprived of efficient prosperous capitalism.
they should also be banned for contributing to deaths.

and keating, hawke , rudd, gillard with their aboriginal welfare programs (forced infantalisation), this has resulted in 1000's of deaths from alcoholism and suicide because of lack of meaning and purpose for aboriginal youth (who used to have a wonderful life working as native stockmen). at least be consistent and call for their banning as well

Yes, of that I'm certain.

I'm also certain the majority of family and friends of these old people vote in elections. And, no doubt all of our politicians are also aware of that fact.

some of those old people, no doubt, want to see their grandchildren flourish and will be very angry about the excessive restrictions demolishing their lives

Oh you heard what the medical experts (who were trying to justify their job) said about visiting old people. The old people might die.

Coronavirus Australia: Melbourne's lockdown,

latest numbers, NSW on alert and Delta variant tracing continues

Officials are scrambling to pinpoint the source of several mystery cases in Melbourne amid concerns surrounding the highly infectious Delta strain.

The scramble to pinpoint the source of several mystery cases of Covid in Melbourne is still underway, with concerns surrounding the highly infectious Delta strain remaining.

Health officials are working to identify the source of 69 infections linked to the outbreak, with two in the West Melbourne cluster announced yesterday having visited known exposure sites.

The couple – one of whom shopped frequently at Epping Plaza and Craigieburn Central – are both in isolation, but while the visit to the shopping centres is a common factor with earlier cases, the shopping times don’t match up, leaving officials scratching their heads.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said he did consider shutting down those two shopping centres but “people need to shop.”

Meanwhile, the Delta strain which has ripped through India has so far been found in seven people from two families in Victoria,
including three children. The first family to present with the variant travelled from Jervis Bay in NSW.

Victoria recorded five new locally acquired cases in total on Saturday, with three close contacts of existing cases. Two new locally acquired cases have been recorded today.
