Didn't know virologists were politically correct.

I think the heads of the medical organisations would be the ones responsible for renaming the virus variant strains. Virologists probably agree, seeing that their job is professional. I would be more eager to test samples for variations of coronavirus if they called the variants "coronavirus/covid19 delta strain" rather than "covid19 Indian variant".

"Delhi Strain" would be more accurate wouldn't it?

Bobby, 'the killer Indian Virus' now called 'Delta' virus I think, doesn't encourage you to go and get the vaccination?

I've had my vaccination (the first) a month ago, and although I felt a bit crappy for a few days after and tender on the vaccination spot, I'd sooner take the chance which is very low risk, than contract the virus which, I understand, is a horrible way to depart this life......or if you are lucky enough to recover, are left with all sorts of health problems for a very long time after.  Undecided

Well, the Great Escapists had tunnels named "Tom, Dick & Harry". But I doubt the names gave the detainees a reason to stick around. Naming coronavirus stains after the Greek alphabet is just an exercise in political correctness. People are hysterical enough to want to get vaccinated, no matter what they call the virus.

I am thinking about getting the vax.
It's not practical at the moment.
A person I know had to wait 5 hours in a line to get it
just the other day.
The vax sites are ridiculously overloaded right now.

In August 2021, Newcastle Coroner Karen Dilks recorded that Lisa Shaw had died “due to complications of an AstraZeneca COVID vaccination”.

I normally wait for things to "come on sale" before I buy something. Waiting in line for a vaccination is not ideal for anyone. Those who are most at risk to suffering the symptoms of the virus should be expedited to the front. But, they should not be lining up for hours to get a vaccination.

I will wait until August before I start considering getting the vaccination. I may have to go get tested for coronavirus (for the first time), as I feel like I am getting a different type of sickness. I can only imagine that work will have to shut down for a while if I come up positive.

Yes - wait till the people who are panicking get theirs first.
I doubt you have Covid.

Doesn't your GP give the vax to his patients if they want it?

Essentially its Bobby being a halfwit and finding every excuse not to get the vaccine.

I went to see my doctor 2 weeks ago for a blood test. The doctor offered me my influenza vaccination. I declined. My doctor did not mention that I could get my covid vaccination. I would surmise that only certain medical facilities are handling those kinds of vaccinations. Not from GPs.

That's correct -
hardly any GPs are administering the Covid vax.

I was planning to have my first Covid vaccine (AstraZeneca) this Thursday when I have to go to my GP for another 3 monthly Lucrin injection but when I went there on Saturday to have the dressing replaced on my throat (from the thyroid surgery I had 2 weeks ago) they told me I wouldn't be able to have it then.

I didn't ask why but I'm assuming they've run out of vaccine for now. When I took my 91 year old aunt to her GP (at the same medical practice I go to) for her first Covid vaccine 3 weeks ago the place was packed - and it looked like most people were there for the Covid 'jab' (they were all filling in the same 3 page 'Covid disclaimer' document I was helping my aunt fill out).
