I was planning to have my first Covid vaccine (AstraZeneca) this Thursday when I have to go to my GP for another 3 monthly Lucrin injection but when I went there on Saturday to have the dressing replaced on my throat (from the thyroid surgery I had 2 weeks ago) they told me I wouldn't be able to have it then.

I didn't ask why but I'm assuming they've run out of vaccine for now. When I took my 91 year old aunt to her GP (at the same medical practice I go to) for her first Covid vaccine 3 weeks ago the place was packed - and it looked like most people were there for the Covid 'jab' (they were all filling in the same 3 page 'Covid disclaimer' document I was helping my aunt fill out).

I am immunocompromised, so that is probably why my GP didn't say anything when I said I wasn't going to get the jab.  He didn't advise it either and would have if he thought I should have it.

you would be at higher risk having it      than not having it nef....you dont go out a lot and the chances of you meeting someone with it is very very slim I would think...same with me.. I ended up in Calvary last Friday and not a mask in sight..they had 1.5.mtr marks on the floor but no one took any notice of them...all very casual..

No, I don't go far.  I make sure that everyone who enters my house wears a mask! When I had the Foxtel bloke here a few weeks ago he said"do you want me to wear a mask?" and I said "Yes, please" so he went to his car and got one .... very thoughtful of him.  Smiley Somebody with a sore throat or a runny nose could mean a trip to Hospital for me.

June 8, 2021.

There have been just two local COVID-19 cases recorded in Victoria,
lifting hopes lockdown will end on Thursday.

Positive case visited Melbourne vaccine hub
By Adam Vidler11:38

The vaccination hub at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (Jeff Shed) was designated a Tier 3 exposure site after a positive COVID-19 case tried to get a jab yesterday.

The person was directed to leave and return to isolation immediately.

Authorities said the situation was "well controlled" and there was no wider risk to the public.

About 5500 people are still in isolation as primary close contacts of confirmed COVID-19 cases, with about 350 people released yesterday.

The Delta variant of COVID-19 circulating in Melbourne has been genomically linked to a returned traveller in hotel quarantine.
Acting Premier James Merlino confirmed public health teams had matched the strain to a man who arrived in Melbourne from Sri Lanka on May 8 and tested positive on the same day.
Genomic sequencing returned an "identical match" to the second of the two families at the centre of the West Melbourne outbreak, who have ties to North Melbourne Primary School.
"I can confirm today that we have now found a match between a returned traveller who entered hotel quarantine in Melbourne on May 8 and this cluster," Mr Merlino said.

Well, duh... thank you, Captain Obvious.

Every single Covid outbreak in Australia has started with "returned travellers".  Roll Eyes

Why wasn't this reported on our main stream media news?

How can police have NO compassion for
these desperate business operators?!

On Saturday, a small group of business owners gathered in Melbourne's CBD to protest the ongoing lockdown. Unlike any previous protest, business owners organised this rally, not activists. However, that didn't deter police, who swiftly and violently shut the demonstration down. WATCH & SHARE what happened.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

One local COVID-19 case reported in Victoria

https://www.afr.com/politics/federal/un-court-upholds-genocide-conviction-for-ra...

Melbourne restrictions poised to be eased

Greater Melbourne is expected to see the current restrictions eased at least in part later this week.

Funny how the number of daily cases has dropped just in time for the planned end of the current lockdown. I wonder if that's the true number (1)? Because, as some of us have said a few times over the past year - there's the definite probability that there are more actual cases than those reported (you can't test every single person in Victoria every single day).

I also wonder if the protests now by business owners as reported in Bobby's post has something to do with it? Hmm...

(Oh, I had a chuckle at a few of the comments when I watched Bobby's video directly on YouTube, especially this one):

If your house is being burgled. Say that there is a freedom rally at your house. They’ll (the police - my edit) be there within seconds

Yep!

Yes - the police are quick to arrest honest working people.
They have trouble getting the Sudanese home invaders and car jackers.
