Don't be an idiot all your life Pasta.....you'll just confirm what most on this forum think of you.......you're a smug twat! Roll Eyes

Actually you can just cross a border and claim asylum, its then up to the country in which you seek asylum to determine whether you met the correct criteria

Not the coastline of a landlocked country genius.......you can even go to a consulate or embassy and apply for asylum.......and you'll stand a far better chance than just illegally crossing a border........and you still have to have a genuine reason for seeking asylum........

The coastline of a landlocked country? Just sit back and think about that one for a moment.

Yes you can go to an embassy and ask for asylum, many don't out of fear of repercussions. And yes you have to have a genuine reason, you agree with what I stated in that you can claim asylum but its up to the receiving goverment to determine whether that claim is merited

The came here illegally, they are illegally here and waving their kids around in front of the cameras should have nothing to do with the decision pending shortly on their future.

6 million bux spent on these invaders.

They did not.  Posting that garbage qualifies you as a very ignorant person.

You overstay your visas ... you're here illegally.

They were refused resident visas on more than one occasion...

They hid in Bilo until authorities caught up with them....

they had children(anchor babies) despite not having any legal status here....

they've been back to Sri Lanka( the place they fled supposedly in fear of their lives) at least twice

What they have done is similar to the African women who present in the UK heavily pregnant, have the child there then make claims to stay because their child is born in the UK.

Weaponising their children...........

I only hope there hasn't been some Munchausen syndrome by proxy involved in the illness of their child.

I say give them a choice.

They can leave with the kid, or leave the kid and leave.
We don't want no more welfare BLUDGING illegal immigrants.

They can't go on welfare if they are illegal.

No, but if they manage to get to stay, it's free house and welfare for life.

Only if they choose to not get a job or educated, much like a lot of Aussies.

And therein lies the difference.
Aussies were born here and they have a right.
Much like the abbos who demand their rights because they were born here.

Bringing in dead beats from some other shite hole is simply stupid.
Unless hey can support themselves, kick the back to whence they came.

There you have it home bred dead beat losers are fine. Anyone else,. bugger off.

It's bad enough that we have an entire culture of deadbeat bludgers parasites.
And so many lazy privileged undereducated.
We also have muzzos coming out of our ears who are nearly all on the disability pension, in gaol or committing welfare fraud.

We don't need any more parasites.

You better read the Immigration Act again, you're not reading it right

Sure of that?  I suggest you read section 39...
That doesnt support your claim, quite the opposite. as I stated, if it were not illegal to enter without a visa then the Australian government would not be able to detain those who do. Pretty basic stuff Brian.

Yes, this is correct, the method of entry is illegal but they can still claim asylum. They are detained under the immigration act as unlawful non citizens until their claims are verified or otherwise.

The UN Convention on Refugees is not binding

They weren't/are not asylum seekers, they are unlawful intruders

wrong, they were Asylum seeker ... they just weren't refugees.

ANYONE can cross a border and claim asylum ... whether you'll be granted refugee status is another matter.

I can't believe that after all these years the idiots on here STILL don't know the difference between an asylum seeker and a refugee.

What ever decision is made by the government, it has to be one that does not encourage illegal border crossing. And if Australia has any UN obligation to take Asylum Seekers or Refugees, we and the UN have the right, perhaps the obligation, to correct the situation they are fleeing by force. That should include seizing assets of foreign "governments."

The point is, these people have been found not to be refugees and therefore are not entitled to be given asylum.  The only reason they have been in detention for so long is because of the interminable appeals and protests being made by the illegal immigrant industry. If not for this they would have been repatriated long ago.

So, you'd prefer to send them back to Sri Lanka for torture, would you, Belgarion? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
