Welfare is just that, something to live on.
It's not a profession ( well for some it is)
It's not an earned income.
It's meant to give you something to buy the basics and keep well.
Not for smokes
Not for grog
Not for Netflix
It's for food to eat and a roof over your head.
The card is to ensure that this is exactly what it is used for, not boozing up, smoking or paying for drugs.
The cashless welfare card MUST be for all welfare recipients, no exceptions.
If you want money to spend on what you want
GET A FRIGGING JOB.
You are disgusting. You want old-age disabled ppl to not even get netflix?
Spot
They should have saved more and worked harder.
Or been nicer to their kids
We paid for my parents Foxtell
we bought them anything they needed
I put in a new kitchen, bathroom and did all the repairs on my parents home.
Perhaps people just need better families.
And families are what you make of them.
the ppl that are on old age pensions now grew up with no super when they were working.
Spot
You can't have the Old Age Pension AND a stack of Superannuation.
No but super wasnt there until recently
Spot
Im 63 and have contributed to super since I started work.
Im currently living off my super and will for many years.
It will run down to a point where I will get the part pension eventually, fair enough, I have paid heaps in taxes all my life.
But there will always be enough to live comfortably, and buy what I want with MY OWN MONEY.
Bring on the cashless card
It will make it even easier for me for when I get the part pension at around 70-75.
The super funds have been around quite a long time, my farther inlaw had a sizable sum in it and his wife is still living comfortably on it.
Compulsory super has been around for quite some time as well.
Basically, anyone living has had the opportunity to save for their comfortable retirement.
Those that have not are not my problem.
People who have never worked, lived on the dole or been wasteful with their money deserve what they get.
Such is life
They should be thankful that they get anything at all.
Because if I had any say in the matter, they would be living under bridges.
And yet you want to be a "parasite" and get a part pension - hope you cant afford netflix
