There was nothing to suggest that Giuliani was not in on the act.
What was his motive?

His desire for popularity.
By pretending to rape a 15 year old?

The scene, that I rewatched today, made no mention of Maria saying that she was 15 years old. And the way Sasha made the scene look like a prank, Giuliani made no effort to take legal action against them.

Because they did nothing illegal.

FFS  Roll Eyes

They accused him of being with a 15-year-old. And Sasha came in wearing women's underwear for his part of the prank, which is a form of sexual harassment. Rape accusations. Sexual harassment. There is enough against Cohen that Giuliani could cite as a reason for not having the scene released on film. And there would have needed to be a release for this sort of scene to go to film, prior interview scene not withstanding.

I get the feeling that Sasha has pranked the audience on this one. Not since Monty Python's intermission scene in the "Holy Grail" movie has the movie producers pranked the audience so well.

The only one pranked was the ex-lawyer who married his cousin.

Cohen did nothing illegal.

From the article I posted previously:

“This person comes in yelling and screaming, and I thought this must be a scam or a shakedown, so I reported it to the police. He then ran away,” Giuliani said. The police found no crime had been committed.

That must be a funny policing system in the United States. Some guy comes into the room wearing women's underwear and proposing anal sex to Giuliani. Sasha joked that the girl was only 15 years old, implying that Giuliani was about to engage in underage sex. There might have been a breach of security. Police called. But no crime had been committed?

As for the marriage to Regina Peruggi, Giuliani's second cousin, that is actually legal. The genetic differentials between the two would be considerable enough that the marriage would not be illegal. That would be like my grandchild marrying my sister's grandchild.

You still havent provided any logical reason why you think Guiliani was "in on the act".

Because he knew he was on camera and he was acting like he was aware that it seemed like a set up. Giuliani did not overreact when Borat went back into the room wearing women's underwear. Borat's over the top beard would have been obvious to even those that were not paying attention.
Thats not a logical reason, thats just how it appeared to your eyes. You claimed that Guiliani was trying to make himself "popular", that claim is ludicrous.

Do you want a "logical" reason? You have already got the logical reason. We might well believe that Giuliani wanted to have sex with Bakalova. But, only Giuliani could tell us if that is true. Giuliani took a long time to tuck his shirt in. And Bakalova made it seem obvious that she was flirting with Giuliani in preparation for her pranking Giuliani. Without the whole story, we cannot tell what happened that day. The only thing we might surmise was that Giuliani was hoping that Bakalova made the next move. But, he sat up off the bed as soon as he heard someone coming.

Giuliani flirting with Bakalova on camera. Giuliani appreciating a stupid gift of some book. Giuliani agreeing on camera to going in to the next room to have a drink with a young lady. What makes you think that he was not doing that for the sake of improving his popularity by getting with a young lady? He was seemingly trying to reassure himself that he was not "passed it" in old age. But, the interview seemed so staged that I could not bring myself to believe that he was not in on the act. Especially seeing that the scene made it to air last year.

HOWEVER...

If it does turn out that I am wrong about my perception of what happened, I will concede that I was wrong. Then I will make it plain and clear stating that Rudolph Giuliani would be the most gullible lawyer I have ever known in the media. He certainly deserves what he gets if Giuliani could not make out that he was set up.

Didn't overreact?

“This person comes in yelling and screaming, and I thought this must be a scam or a shakedown, so I reported it to the police. He then ran away,” Giuliani said. The police found no crime had been committed.

You don't think that:

a) reporting it to the police was an overreaction, and

b) reporting it to the police proves that he wasn't in on it?

I am yet to see evidence that he reported to the police the incident of that day.

How many links showing his actual quote do you want?

greg, I have already read your repeated quoting of what was claimed to be said. I do not know if that quote is the truth. And if there was truth to what was said, there is no evidence that charges were pursued. Ergo, no crime was committed.... on either side of the argument.

Last week, Rudy Giuliani saw his New York law license suspended, over his furthering of Donald Trump’s lies about voter fraud.

In his new book, the journalist Michael Wolff depicts the former mayor in the White House in the last days of the Trump presidency, drinking heavily and in a constant state of excitation, often almost incoherent in his agitation and mania”.

And to think that it wasn't so long ago that "America's Mayor" was thought to have a shot at the presidency Smiley

You know, even back during 9/11 when everyone thought Rudy was the bee's knees, I didn't like the guy.

He always gave off a creepy vibe.

Turns out my gut instincts were right.

I always believed he was "casting himself as a hero for political gain".

Now the guy is just a complete & utter nutjob.

Years back I read a piece in Vanity Fair that detailed Rudi's crazy relationships with his ex-wives and children who purportedly hated him. I wonder if his son made up with his dad for (attempted) political gain?

Being under federal investigation is not only incredibly stressful, it is also incredibly expensive. Thanks to the work he did for Donald Trump, the Feds are taking a close look at Rudy Giuliani. And since the former New York City mayor was stiffed by the former president, he is having some significant money issues.

With no money coming in from Trump, Giuliani resorted to raising his legal fees through online crowdfunding. The venture is not going well for him, though. The page is currently at .001% of its $5 million dollar goal.
Reuters Jan Wolfe tweeted, “Rudy Giuliani’s legal defense fund only has 92 online donations so far, totaling less than $8,000. They set a goal of $5 million by late August. And at this rate they won’t hit $100,000 by then.”

I doubt Mr Trump needed any encouragement to claim victory. He was claiming voter fraud for 6 months prior to the election.
