So, 77 people yesterday tested positive for a virus, out of 40,000+ tests. And if they cannot track where those people went in the last week, that would be unusual.

NSW Police is just lazy. They can check the mobile GPS history and very easy to help the patient to recall where has he/she been.

I have the covid app installed (that gives me the impression) to allow authorities to track my movements and with whom I come into contact. That is assuming that they (other contacts) also have a phone with the covid app. I also do the check-ins with the QR codes.

If the police want to check on my movements around town, they will have to rely on me taking my phone everywhere, which is not the case all the time. I go for a walk most nights without my phone. It would take the police finding security camera footage (and me to confirm myself in the footage) so that they can track my movements.

Other than that, I doubt an infected person would be too social in this day and age to be going to many places inside the week. I could say that my movements would include shopping centres, cinema, and work as places I frequent. The police/covid investigators can track my eftpos purchases for further information about where I have been. But, they would have to have me volunteer that I have been to the bottle shops, seeing that I only purchase alcohol with cash -- I don't want a record on my bank statements.

Very small chance she was vaccinated.

But when you look at how much the vaccines reduce your risk of developing severe illness that requires hospitalisation, the coverage is high for both. Pfizer and Astrazeneca vaccines are 96% and 92% effective (respectively) in preventing Delta variant hospitalisations.

Why didn't the family encourage her to be vaccinated?
Why didn't they keep her isolated?

So it's now a full blow panic over the death of an unvaccinated 90 year ?

Looks like we have an antivaxer.

The vaccination reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalisation by 94-96%.

We don't know if she was vaccinated or not.

Moreover, we don't know if she had any family who kept in contact with her either.

Maybe her family are forum members here?  That could explain it.

2 people died falling off ladders this week.

why arent they mentioned by the politicians and chief health officers?

let me correct the record for gladys.

our heart felt sympathies going out to the victim of this tragic ladder accident.

our police force and indeed the military will be patrolling streets to ensure ladders are used correctly.

we have emptied out our hospitals and suspended elective surgery in case a ladder injury patient should require help.

all people using ladders will require the ladder proficieny app and anyone who is afraid to use a ladder will qualify for a ladder saver payment

To allay that "panic" all they have to do is come out and tell the public that she definitely was not vaccinated.

"We immediately did an in-depth investigation of the woman's medical history and we have established as an absolute fact that the woman was offered the vaccination but decided to refuse it. Australians can therefore rest assured that nobody in this country who has received the vaccination has died as a result of COVID-19".

With the amount of vaccination hesitancy in the country at the moment, this would be the sensible thing to do.

Instead, they come out with "I believe ...", and "It's understood ...".

Maybe they're just buying time until they do have the facts.

It's not a good look though.

So, what do the vaccines actually do? Builds up your immunity that when you catch the virus, you do not get tested because your symptoms are not as strong as what you would have had if you were not vaccinated. Then you do not get tested anyway because you have been vaccinated and it would seem redundant to get tested. So, the virus gets into your system and you pass the virus on to people that are not vaccinated. That complacency spikes up case numbers.

You perhaps? I've had one vaccination so if my parents were unvaccinated (which they're not)  I'd be less likely to spread it.

You just chucked a stone through a panel of your glasshouse.

Go get vaccinated before you start pointing fingers.

She was unvaccinated and had contracted the virus from a household close contact.

I find it hysterical that people like Three-Finger-Haji here are urging people to get vaccinated for a virus that they said was "fake news" just over 12 months ago.

Gordon and his uneducated conservative friends were agreeing with the American alleged child rapist who said that it was just a few cases and that it would disappear when the weather warmed up.

What caused this sudden change of heart?

I'm curious.
