Me so far too, kinda... Not that I haven't tried. I'm thinking I should have taken my son's advice and taken a trip to SE QLD a month or so ago. I wonder if I could get him to bring some down, he's vaccinated RN and should be able to get a border pass.

Edit: The truth is we have not been impacted much at all. 15 cases in total I think. To me it was not a priority as the threat is low and other areas needed them. I can stay home and isolate easily with no real impact on me, vaccines were needed elsewhere much more, like aged care staff, health workers, first responders.

Complacent but I'm saving my criticism for the self righteous and people handing out lectures.

There has been plenty of vaccine around for months and everyone eligible should have gotten off their bums and got done. Now there's a rush for it so it will put the system under pressure.

i think we will maybe get to 70 % vaxxed by christmas.
then there really wont be any case to be made for lockdowns and the like .
with maybe 9 million unvaxxed people and a very very contagious and nasty (but not super nasty) virus.
we should expect many of those 9 million to get it and if it is a death rate of 1/2 a % thats still 45,000 deaths (maybe spread out over a few years) and then it may mutate a bit and some vaxxed people may still get it.

so

at some point we are going to have to start dealing with annual death rates in their 1000's

so why make it the boogey man when that will be the ongoing scenario.

why not just downplay it a bit, tell people they better get used to it and maybe get some of that fat off, stop smoking, get some vitamin d .

I'm sure I said right at the start, when it escaped China, we might just have to live with another endemic virus. That looks like the case but don't think this has been a waste of time or money. Consider it "war games" for what will eventually come. I still think Au should lock down until both vaccines are at reasonable herd level of possible immunity.
