New South Wales has recorded 172 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases, with at least 60 of those infectious in the community.
The new cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Monday came from 84,486 tests.
It comes as an apartment block in Sydney's west has been locked down for two weeks after six positive cases were detected in residents.
Indeed, NSW is stuck in lockdown, and Victoria is coming out of it. Direct evidence, short sharp strong lockdown works. It worked for NZ at the crucial time last year.
It worked for us Victorians just now, and that’s the way to do it.
Except last year was horrific with 4 months lockdown because of bungle up with security guards at hotel quarantine…..
I hear Sydney going into another month of lockdown…. wishing them all the best …..
if any Sydneysiders want to know how to bide that time….I’m sure some of us Melbournians (being an old hand with this) can offer some comforting advice.
1. Start doing “bin outing” vids all dressed up.
2. Zoom vid meetings and musical get togethers.
3. Cook lots of different recipes you’ve always wanted to try out of those hardly opened Cook books, or follow online recipes.
4. Netflix, etc especially those with about 6-7 seasons to get hooked into.
5. Lots of FaceTime calls on mobile phones to you loved ones.
6. Bunnings online shopping and pick up to paint/fix house that’s in need of that bit of TLC nagging at you for some time.
7. Make online photo books of your travels since travel is now very restricted.
8. Go through unused stuff stored and minimise what is using up valuable real estate space in house.
9. Appreciate the fact we have more than most in third world countries, we have more cushy stuff and the world online at our fingertips compared to war torn times.
10. Don’t drink too much alcohol as this was a huge developed problem that came about for some during our 4 month Victorian lockdown in 2020. Investigate healthy alternatives for your well being.
11. Lucky the Tokyo Olympic are on at present… enjoy and feel the triumphs.
12. Forgot to mention… all them funny relatable memes kept us in good humoured spirit.
