Was Jr a moron or simply arrogant? He took off without instrument training into a situation where he was rapidly losing the horizon because his narcissistic wife had her pedicure done 3 times till it matched her gown. His sister-in-law died too.

Look at the family. Ole Joe f.u.c.k.e.d rats. Jacky was a syphilic mummy's boy with a Napoleonic complex. Bobby was pretty cool even if he was nuts deep with the Mob. The rest of the family consisted of KKK Grand Wizards and Chase Manhattan Bank execs. Of course he was a spastic.

Why would you bring me into your "opinion" of something I have never commented about? As a licensed Private Pilot I can tell everyone the details of his death is the only thing I could possibly comment on. I don't have any interest in him or his fatal screwup. I took several hours of instrument training under the hood that restricted the students vision to just inside the aircraft and it is very easy to become disoriented if you trust the way your body feels rather than your instruments. Reports were that he flew into the real thing and it was more than he could handle!
