As I have said previously: While I do support the INTENT and the MOTIVES behind the
protest, I do NOT support the decision to do it at this time.

Breaking a lockdown to protest the lockdown only ever had the potential to
make the lockdown even longer. it was ill-advised and irresponsible.

But despite this, I simply cannot support the behaviour of SOME of the police who
were present. Some of them, obviously psychopaths, are absolutely REVELLING
in the opportunity to brutalise people that this pandemic seems to have given them.

Ans riding-down unarmed protestors with horses should be outright ILLEGAL. It
should NEVER be tolerated or condoned, especially in the circumstances in which
it occurred on the weekend.

I've watched most of the footage (both 'official' and that which the media don't/won't
show) and the protestor DID NOT hit the horse - he pushed it away in self-defense. And
the cop DEFINITELY tried to ride him down - not once, but several times.

I feel sorry for the horse, but would'nt have felt sorry for its rider had someone dragged
him off the horse and taught him some manners.

No wonder respect for the police is at an all-time low.

Agree.

Why use horses? At all?!
Using animals like that is cruelty!
It should be outright banned!
See the way the mounted police yank the reigns hard left and right on that animal. It was confused going round in circles!
They train those horses to nudge people and it’s deliberate that the mounted cops do that knowing the horse will comply to its training.
I say again… this type of nonsense of cruelty to animals …should be banned!
A glorified trained circus animal!

It's funny how quickly some turn on the police depending on who is doing the protesting.

Quickly turning? Is the use of animals like that funny?
Oh and BTW…. I’m against horse racing too.
It’s cruelty at another level using innocent animals with blinkers on and having to run so hard whilst being edged on with a whip.
Does anyone else see what some of us others can see there? Go beyond the humanly desires and BS fantasy of chicken & champagne and dress ups and wagers.
Look at the animals from a different perspective.

Oh yeah, I'm 100% against horse racing these days.

I get very strange looks every year when I refuse to attend lavish Melbourne Cup parties.

I refuse to celebrate such a cruel wank-fest.

you might not get invited

people want kids safe from drink drivers and most 'real" australians dont have much to chat about with a social justice warrior.

But I do.

At least six invites every year.

I'm not into animal cruelty though.

Unlike Gordon, who defends low-life scum who punch horses.

Indeed, he did.

I'm starting to think the guy arrested might be one of his kettle bell swinging friends.

But Karnal, who's going to defend all the rentboys you've donkeypunched? (consensually of course).

Oh well, at least you paid them 5 baht so they can go open a noodle cart in their village.

It's good that we can group people like that, K. Don't you think?

Female punchers.
Horse punchers.
Arse punchers.

So sectarian.

Now now, Gordon, some of your best friends are horses, remember?

You nearly married a Persian filly. You pashed one down the back oval after the Harold Park Trots.

You're not horsist, oh no.
