You seem to know a lot about Asian prostitutes Gordon, you aren't George Christiansen by any chance are you?

Well, I know people who've volunteered their time to NGOs in the relevant area, but thanks for the slur. I despise sex tourists. Are you one?

No. I was having a dig at an elected official. Not you.

I don't know what is going on?

The Grubberments seem to be able to do anything under emergency powers.
I'm certain they could have martial law curfews and shoot on sight laws
if they wanted to - anything goes - it's a communist dictatorship.
Any action people have tried to take in courts against the Govts.
has been stopped by judges/ magistrates.

A joint investigation between Nine News, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age alleged Christensen was a regular at the Ponytails bar - an adult entertainment venue in Angeles City. According to Nine News, the manager of the club stated Christensen was a "big spender”. The media outlets also alleged that Christensen's wife was an employee at Ponytails.

Marx, my issue with Buzz is he bragged about using rentboys in Thailand.

My issue is not with the homosexuality, but with using prostitutes in developing countries which perpetuates the sex slave trade (which is very prevalent in Thailand).

Using people in a poor country as a sex toy is just disgusting.

This is how those poorer people in those countries are forced to offer their sexual service for money.
It’s the fault of their country’s leadership for not looking after their people.

Prostitution isn’t new… it’s the oldest profession in the world.
Not just during 3rd world as we know it today, but in past too, in many western times in many countries.
It’s a human condition that has cause and effect.
A need for people to survive making sexual offerings and hoping for others to take up those offerings so they can put food on the table for family.

We could never know what it’s like or what to do if confronted with that situation if we were suddenly trapped in a poor environment desperate to survive. Perhaps no choice.
It’s either do or die.
Sad but true and necessary for the time and place.
If not for visiting westerners, they would not survive well.

People in Thailand are often tricked or forced into prostitution.
Their parents often have debts and one of the loan sharks suggests their child can go to the city to work the debt off.

Seriously if you can't go to Thailand and get enough joy from the scenery, the food, the temples and you have to use them as sex toy, you're seriously sick.

If yuo MUST, use prostitutes in your own country where they probably earn more than you, not in poor countries.

This is where the crux of the problem lay. Their leaders are saying it loud and clear…. Help yourselves because we won’t.

Then it becomes a scenario of two points of users.
The sexual industry takes 2 to tango. One uses the other and vice versa.

I’m certain the lax leaders know that they can lure rich westerners into their country for many reasons to boost their economy.
Just wondering how these 3rd world countries have coped whilst travel restrictions and lockdowns have come into play since Covid happened?
They had all become too reliant on westerners visiting.
Hopefully they are learning to rely on themselves to survive.
I think it was Indonesia (can’t recalll now) that had gone from relying on holiday makers, to going back to growing seaweed or something underwater again, making a living from their own reliance, hard work as it is, and timing the tides, but it’s a beginning to claim self reliance.

Highlighted: works for Australia, not in countries where loan sharks extort poor people and take their kids to work as prostitutes to pay their debts.

I do agree Gordon, that it’s so wrong what is being done to those poor people to be exploited by their crooked loan sharks/governments etc.
They are not being looked after.
Life is cheap there, but their living needs are not.
What else can they do? If they don’t use sex… how else can they be helped out? Why does sex have to be the only option or last option?
And yes, a good question is why take advantage of that, when affordability for westerners can have have sex in ones own country …. Just because everyone else is going into an impoverished country and doing it… doesn’t make it okay. But it’s there, the lure.

Being a mother myself,  having a daughter, I am grateful we are not born of those countries.
You know, the other week, amidst Sth Africans rioting etc. my daughter seeing it on the news, felt disturbed, seeing it effecting a pastor she follows online from over there, came and said to me a couple of times …. How glad she lives in Australia.

We can compare. We can say “there but for the grace of God goes I/us”

People did what they were told because
they were in fear of their lives from the Govts.
The Govt. has 10s of 1000s of armed thugs who can knock on your door
and take you away.
The fines are so large they can ruin your life yet alone all the jail sentences.
Our democracy was lost so easily at the stroke of a pen in every state.
It was all an illusion.

Everything our grandfathers fought for in WW1 and WW2 has been lost.
They died in vain and the emergency powers over what is just a bad flu
were used against us and get stronger every day.
Our democracy vanished forever taken away by communists that were hiding amongst us all the time.
