Women tend to be better at it than men.

Women tend to be better at it than men.

Not always. Working as a research assistant for a Melbourne share-broker some years ago I noticed three nuns arrive in the trading floor gallery every day. We kept an eye on them learning they were buying and selling significant amounts (read huge) of stocks and bonds daily. We also discovered they all had economics degrees and were there to trade for and on behalf of the church.
So, being nasty little agnostics with zero respect for Rome we engineered what at the time was referred to as a ’take’. One morning when the sisters got into the lift we had a prepared dialogue whispering to each other rumours about United Petrolium Reserves having discovered vast quantities of nickel in Western Australia.
Within minutes of our news the price for UPR shot up significantly. We sold ours before they crashed only a few hours later.

Some of you with a respect for the Roman Church may question the morality of such moves but when did morals have anything to do with the Stockmarket? Today with IT systems instantaneously trading in billions at speeds mere humans can’t keep track of the market is even more anarchistic.
