Afghanistan - U.S. military advisor didn't believe
Aug 19th, 2021 at 7:42pm

Afghanistan - U.S. military advisor refused to 'believe' that Taliban, were followers of ISLAM !!!

I AM NOT KIDDING !!!   read on.....

In his estimation, the Taliban, were too evil, to be followers of ISLAM !

ISLAM preaches “unity, justice and peace”,   ...don't ya know !

He revealed that....

Quote:

"....he wrestles with the fact that the Taliban was motivated, and was able to motivate Afghans, on the basis of Islamic teachings.
He doesn’t like this idea, as he thinks that it makes Islam, which, he says, preaches “unity, justice and peace” look bad,...."

[cited below]

People like Carter Malkasian, imo, are one of the primary reasons why   all   Western nations are today, 'circling the drain hole' of human history.

That, and our perverse, Glory Hole, poll fixated, political leaders.

Carter Malkasian is “the author of The American War in Afghanistan: A History.

He served as a civilian advisor in Iraq and Afghanistan and was the senior advisor to General Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, from 2015 to 2019.”

In this long piece for Politico from early July, he wrestles with the fact that the Taliban was motivated, and was able to motivate Afghans, on the basis of Islamic teachings.

He doesn’t like this idea,       as he thinks that it makes Islam, which, he says, preaches “unity, justice and peace” look bad,

but he finds it difficult to escape the conclusion that the Taliban was and is popular among Afghans because of their loyalty to Islam.......

Duh.

Really ?

This is called, WILFUL IGNORANCE.

That term is a technical nomenclature, for a state of 'intellectual being'.

It is a state of intellectual being which commonly resides within the halls of higher learning,
but which has never inspired in it, any need to be acknowledged nor examined,
by those within those institutions of higher learning in the West [aka 'a university'].

We all seek mental serenity,    ...and everyone acknowledges, that 'Ignorance is bliss.'

e.g.
If a moslem tells a learned, Western intellectual, that
'ISLAM means peace, and ISLAM seeks peace.'
,
then what good reason is there, for that intellectual to doubt, what that moslem has told him !!

"The American War in Afghanistan: A History (2021) by Carter Malkasian, is a comprehensive history of the war, arguing that one of the primary reasons for the Taliban's success was their deep connection to the religious and social identity of Afghanistan,"

The American and allied withdrawal has been planned for some time. Donald Trump announced he had made one of his famous deals with the Taliban. But it all starts with George W. Bush and his delusion of nation building. It may have sounded good to dunderheads as 911 gave him latitude with the voters, but anyone with half a brain could see the Afghans were not going to fight the Taliban. The tradition in that country is to switch sides to whom so over happened to be winning. Anyway, now they can get back to beating women, rooting little boys and facing Mecca.

Anyone with half a brain could see that the Afghanis were not going to fight the Taliban. But anyone with a fully developed and functional brain could infer the plausibility of fighting the Taliban and keeping the idea of a restored nation or a new nation in progress.

38 million Afghanis. You could assume that they could have 1 million Afghani soldiers adequately trained and equipped to go against the Taliban. Twenty years is a long time to organise a national army. Perhaps that is what the Taliban were doing in Pakistan all this time.

The US is echoed by Vice President Scomo who said on Monday
".. our thanks, are always to Australians who serve...great commitment to their country and the values that Australia represents, which is freedom."

Sadly, the Afghan campaign was not for the WH or Pork Barrel Canberra. Afghanistan looks a bit like "america" or "australia" but the istan part gives it away. They don't speak yank or oz.

Pakistan caused this.
They played the Yanks for suckers.
They supported the Taliban the whole time - 20 years -
and even had Osama hidden away in a military town.

The Yanks should have closed off the border to
Pakistan immediately in 2001.
Then at least that prick Osama wouldn't have got away.
Obama even gave his Muslim Pakistan friends $billions in aid.

Afghanistan has $3 trillion oil reserves which is terrifying. A Chinese man with a plan has booked the first Air China flight into Talibanistan, for peace of brotherhood and lotsa money.

I do not remember who it was that proposed that Osama bin Laden decided to use a tactic of provoking the Americans with "reap what you sow" heckles from his cave in Kandahar. However, it seemed to be a plausible strategy. The Americans could be bogged down in Afghanistan for decades, whilst the Saudis, Iranians, and Pakistanis could position themselves with their natural resources to sell to the world at an inflated price. The Americans concerning themselves with resources to fight a war to ensure that they can still get resources from neighbouring regions. GW Bush ensuring that his oil companies can take over Iraqi oil fields and companies, to help fund his retirement. And the general surrounding of disputed terrorities and ambiguous governments by allied forces so that we can have regime changes at short notice.

Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan would have their own kind of training camps. But, why would they not? Lotta white people comin' back to take out dey holy landz.

So why not just buy the oil on the open market? Why have a war over something when you can just buy it?
And, needless to say other ghan to you, there is no oil in Talibistan.

Afghanistan has 1.8 billion barrels of oil between Balkh and Jawzjan Province .
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghanistan

By 2050, the US expects to import more than 80 percent of its petroleum from this region and much of that oil would be extracted from beneath the deserts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The September 11 attack provided the Cheney-Bush team with the opportunity to use the US military to pave the way for Big Oil’s long-sought Afghan oil route.
