CSIRO Low carb diet
Sep 23rd, 2021 at 11:03am

seems to be a lot of ignorance around this, there is even someone claiming to be a sports nutritionist here (lol) who doesnt seem to know the first thing about nutrition. So read this if you are ignorant and become  educated.

Our low-carb diet: scientifically proven and not a passing fad
Low-carb isn’t a new concept. In fact, it’s been around for so long that people might have forgotten about it. But in a world full of nutrition noise, few diets have undergone the type of rigorous testing and research which still hold true.

With so many variations and options out there, we’re providing a science-based insight into the world of eating low-carb.

They have a healthy portion of carbs in all meal photos. Are they saying sedentry obese people eat too many carbs?

From your link-
All participants had type 2 diabetes and were either overweight or obese adults.

Do I still have to exercise?

Ideally exercise combined with the nutrition plan is best. Research shows that the level of physical activity you engage in each week is one of the strongest predictors of losing weight and keeping it off. Exercise can also improve your blood glucose control and health and wellbeing, whether you lose weight or not. But if you can’t exercise, the nutrition plan by itself can still make a big difference.

Here you claimed the CSIRO total wellbeing diet is an example of a keto diet

In the comments-
They are also different programs and the Low Carb Diet cannot be used interchangeably with the Total Wellbeing Diet. Whilst both are evidence-based effective weight management plans, they are separate plans that offer different value and that you either follow one or the other.
Kind regards,
Kashmi

What does the low carb diet say about eating  fruit can you exceed your carb limit by eating 2 bananas which means no other veggies salad pasta bread for the day?

Burning fat seems like an ideal way to lose pounds. But getting the liver to make ketone bodies is tricky:

It requires that you deprive yourself of carbohydrates, fewer than 20 to 50 grams of carbs per day (keep in mind that a medium-sized banana has about 27 grams of carbs).

This diet you linked is not the same as the total wellbeing diet which in your ignorance you tried to pass off as a keto diet they are 2 separate diets.

Your link said everyone they tested in this diet had type 2 diebetes and were overweight/obese it even questioned if they could exercise.

How many elite athletes are obese with type 2 diabetes is it zero zip zilch?

Sumo wrestlers are culturally respected athletes in Japan. But they are not "elite". And when the sumo wrestlers retire from their sport, they have to undergo a mandatory weight loss program.

Sumo wrestlers have a life expectancy between 60 and 65, more than 20 years shorter than the average Japanese male

My thinking is changing a bit on this.

Of course what you eat is important but keeping to your calorie budget is the main thing and finding a diet that works for you is really important.

I eat carbs, but no rice, wheat and only potatos that have been cooked the previous day. So for carbs it's pulses, sweet potato, pumpkin.

In theory eating crap and sticking to your calorie count is fine, but good luck with that. Empty carbs and sugar spike your blood sugar levels and your brain doesn't know you're full until you've overeaten.

Looking at this so called low carb diet it actually has a lot of carbs.

They use the term low carb vegetables which is really a marketing term used to peddle a diet.

Nobody called these things low carb vegetables if they weren't trying to sell a diet they just called them carbs.
Tomato ( techically a fruit not a vegetable)
Artichoke
Snap peas
Green beans
Rocket

Optional additions are strawberries and apricots which are also carbs.

Download it from level 2-3 checklists
https://www.csiro.au/en/research/health-medical/diets/CSIRO-Low-Carb-Diet

I don't see anything new or great here apart from calling it low carb which is just a marketing term when everyone else calls them carbs.

A bit like that core strength nonsense which is also a marketing gimmick what is in your core to give this strength or does it come from abs obliques and erector spinae muscles which aren't in your core.

Lots of carbs on book cover.

How do any of those video declaring the wrestlers "elite" actually demonstrate that they are the best athletes?
