2. The MC started turning down about 5000 years ago and the globe started cooling down.

Can we see how forests might have grown in the north in the HO, then cooling killed the trees and some might have become buried under advancing glaciers? And now AGW is forcing glaciers to retreat and some of the remains of these forests become uncovered—and new forests start growing on the site of these old ones.

BTW Bobo, Greenland was not clear of ice in the MWP! Eric the Red lied about that to get volunteers for the colony he wanted to found in Greenland.

As to crops—no. Recently, in a very sheltered part of Greenland, some barley was grown there. Hay for their animals was about it: the economy of the Viking colony on Greenland was based on the ivory from narwhal tusks, that is what the young Vikings were doing in the summer months, hunting narwhal.
