There is no haranguing people with bets he won't follow through on becauser it's not for him to follow through, it's up to FD.  Stop lying

The bet Greg had with Bias had no mention of FD enforcing  it Greg said he would leave this forum forever if he lost.

It's bullshit saying it's up to FD to follow through there was no mention of that in the bet with Bias.

Jim Lahey is a troll.

324 posts in 3 days of pure garbage and trolling.

I suspect that it's 3 people:
Monk, Greggy and Smith all using the same
login information.

Could the GMods check please?

Care to make a bet, Bobby?

The loser of the bet has his account deleted by FD.

Up for it?

Greggy - no bets -
I have asked the mods to check as I don't know -
it certainly sounds like all 3 of you.

Monk, Greggy and Smith all using the same
login information.

if you think it sounds like all three of us then take the bet. If you don't trust Greg then I'll take the bet with you. If Jim Lahey is me FD can delete my account, and if it's not he can delete yours

what have you got to lose goober?

Nobody will bet with lefties in this forum they never honour their bets.

Scroll back and read the terms again.

The decision is made by FD, not the individual forum members.

The loser of the bet has no say in what happens - the plug is pulled by FD.

So, you in?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

You twice said you are leaving and asked for your account to be deleted. You have lost a bet and never honoured it. Why would anyone bet with you. It's like you have tempted God and he hasn't smitten you yet so you feel free to sin as much as you like.

So, you in?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

Perhaps I should just honour your last two requests for your account to be deleted. Better late than never.

So, you in?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

I'll take that as a 'no' from you then.

Moreover, I've never asked you to delete my account.

(You can continue this argument on your own for now - I've just been informed by a nurse at the nursing home that my father has had another stroke and has been transferred to hospital.  I'll check in later tomorrow and see if anyone is taking me up on the bet).

All the best.

Cheers.

He made it through the night, but is very weak and confused - it looks like it's taken out one of his arms.

Not quite 7am here, so I'll wait a few hours until the doctors have done their rounds then go up and see him again.

He's a tough old bugger, that's for sure.

Hope your dad improves today, Greg.

I don't normally look at this sort of thread but I clicked on it while I was looking at "The newest 20 Board Topics" and it went directly to your latest post.

Thanks guys.

He's in pretty good spirits today, all things considered.

Has completely lost the use of one hand though - can't even wiggle a finger   Sad

Yes, unfortunately.

He's had several small ones in the past, but this one was much bigger.

Sorry to read that Greg.

I wish your father an improved quality of life and you the strength to get through these times and still enjoy the time left.

Thanks Super (and John, et al.)

He's a tough old bugger, that's for sure, but I fear this might be a bit much for him.

Without the use of one of his arms, he can't use a frame-walker and thus can't walk.

I suspect he'll go down hill very quickly once/if they release him from hospital.

He's almost blind, half deaf, only has one working arm, and now won't be able to walk on his own.

It's incredibly sad and depressing to see him laying in the hospital bed, however, it motivates me to read more, exercise more, and enjoy more of life in general.

He's almost 90, so it's by no means a bad innings, but still incredibly hard to watch the end slowly play out.

The good thing is he still has his sense of humour, and isn't in any pain (and still has a healthy appetite).
