Yes, all the best for your Dad, Greg.
Thanks guys.
He's in pretty good spirits today, all things considered.
Has completely lost the use of one hand though - can't even wiggle a finger

Did he have a stroke Greg ?
Yes, unfortunately.
He's had several small ones in the past, but this one was much bigger.
Sorry to read that Greg.
I wish your father an improved quality of life and you the strength to get through these times and still enjoy the time left.
Thanks Super (and John,
et al.)
He's a tough old bugger, that's for sure, but I fear this might be a bit much for him.
Without the use of one of his arms, he can't use a frame-walker and thus can't walk.
I suspect he'll go down hill very quickly once/if they release him from hospital.
He's almost blind, half deaf, only has one working arm, and now won't be able to walk on his own.
It's incredibly sad and depressing to see him laying in the hospital bed, however, it motivates me to read more, exercise more, and enjoy more of life in general.
He's almost 90, so it's by no means a bad innings, but still incredibly hard to watch the end slowly play out.
The good thing is he still has his sense of humour, and isn't in any pain (and still has a healthy appetite).
