Valkie,
while I admire your apparent determination to improve the human race one person (or, in this case, one forum member) at a time I strongly suspect your efforts will be in vain.
From my own experiences I've found that this approach usually tends to aggravate the person you're trying to help and only makes their abuse and general obnoxiousness worse.
In my opinion, just ignoring them is the best option.
Sadly, I have tried that tact, but it was unsuccessful.
So now, I have decided to help him, or them out by giving them a clear willing outlet for their obvious frustrations and anger issues.
They must be in a rather bad place to be so hurtful insulting and just plain nasty.
It must stem from something, if I can just get them to open up and let it out they or him, may be salvageable.
It could be frustration in life.
Perhaps they have been poorly treated.
Perhaps it's a parental issue.
Whatever it is, they, or he, obviously is in need of help.
Help which he or they refuse to get for themselves, so I'll do my best to help out.
All they have to do is take that first step toward niceness, and then it gets easier.
