Why? Did something happen then to stop you believing in prayer?

I used my brain. Time for you to do the same and not for fantasy bullshit either.

Does anyone here still believe in the power of prayer?

Am I the only person left on this seriously God forsaken website who still believes in praying for our families, friends and each other?

Prayer can be a very powerful thing.

I'm finding it next to impossible to pray for anyone who posts on OzPit.

I just can't. I look at what they post and I think there's no way that person deserves my prayer.

And it upsets me that I can't pray for them. I do however find myself praying for their families because I feel sorry for them. How do women and children live with some of the disturbed cyber multi trolls who live here 24/7 under so many fake aliases?

Behind all these multi troll cyber junkie ids which come online to flame and troll there's a real disturbed individual who clearly isn't coping with real life. And the collateral damage is borne by the women and children who are around them.

That totally breaks my heart!  These women and kids deserve better. So yeah I pray for these individuals. I pray that angels come to encourage them, comfort them and protect them. This is how I pray for all my kids actually. My neighbours and colleagues etc.

I just can't pray for the posters who I see on OzPol addicted to multi trolling and flaming. 😩

Some men have concluded, that;
"This life is a search for meaning."

For myself, i recognise that the Jewish Tanakh and the Christian scriptures, are [human] documents which contain lots, and lots, of affirmations.

Affirmations which help my psyche to grasp-hold-of, 'some' meaning, in this life.

affirmation = =
1. the act of affirming or the state of being affirmed; assertion.
2. something declared to be true; a positive statement or judgment.
3. a statement intended to provide encouragement, emotional support, or motivation, especially when used for the purpose of autosuggestion.
4. the assertion that the testimony one gives is true and equivalent to that which would be given while under oath.

AND YET....
Some [or many !] persons [in human culture in this 'modern age'] do not care for many of those particular 'affirmations',
which can be found everywhere, within the Jewish Tanakh and within Christian scriptures.

AND YET....
But, along with many, many other persons alive today, i do.

How so ?

Because for me [and those other individuals, i assume] those scriptures,
when we examine them,
present to us, 'an answer' to "our search for meaning",
as individuals.

.

Just a few, positive affirmations.

Psalms 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2  But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Ecclesiastes 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

.

Whosoever loves God cannot strive that God should love him in return.

In other words, only naive (but perhaps rather touching)  narcissism would lead someone at once to believe in a God who made the eternal laws of physics and then to imagine that this same God would take an interest in bending the rules of existence to improve his or her life in some way.

frank,

I'm one of those 'naive persons' [even a little narcissistic ?  [smile]  ], because i see i recognise throughout scripture that MY God declares that He,
does love those who do love Him [i.e. love God's righteous character].
....even, as a parent, would love his child.

Leviticus 26:9
For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
10  And ye shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new.
11  And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you.
12  And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
13  I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

And many more scriptures.

You used your brain at age 10. You do realise that
the frontal lobe of your brain which governs high level logic and reasoning isn't fully developed until 25 ... yes?

Your kids are imaginary now?

Well guess what Frodo....your kids are some of the kids I pray for! You've left a terrible trail of damage and your 3 kids deserve better! I just can't pray for you. I know exactly what you are. It's like I'm being asked to pray for the Devil. It vexes my spirit. As a wife and as a mother it absolutely vexes my heart and soul.

It's the real families behind these disturbed cyber multi trolls who need our prayers Bobby. The women and the children who are unfortunate to be around them.

These people are beyond help. Frodo in particular! He's an absolute dead beat of a dad! Those poor kids deserve better!

I thought Monk may have been (given he's as old as my parents who are no longer with us).

I realise now I was wrong about him too.

You get to the point in life where you give up on certain people and just move on. They no longer matter. At all.

I pray to my God every day [at least once].

I pray to my God every day, and i ask his spirit to guide me.

I thank my God every day, that his spirit has led me to find the blessings which i enjoy in my life.

I pray to my God every day and i ask the spirit of God, to protect me, in my daily life.

The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob.

even the 2 thieves beside him on the cross were saved.
