Are you defending his sanity?

Why would you ask me that?

Do you think he is sane?

Why would you ask me that?

You said:

"Translation: Insanity plea is on its way."

He abducted a child, kept her captive for 18 days, and then went shopping for nappies at the local Woollies.

That sounds insane to me.

So, are you surprised than an insanity plea is on its way or are you angry about it?

Or, were you just stating what everyone else already knows and accepts?

Or, do you think he's perfectly sane and that the insanity plea is bullshit?

To be brutally honest I think you're insane.

Rhino himself asked me a few hours ago about it.

That's who I was responding to.

Sth Highlands is country.

This guy lives in public housing somewhere in bogan bush.

And he's as strange as.
His FB page is creepy and his vast collection of little girl's dolls is just as creepy.
He's been buying another person's 4 year old girl nappies ffs. He probably thought he was role playing mothers and fathers or something like that. Who knows.

He's definitely insane in the membrane. Insanity plea is on its way. Fact!

Are you opposed to pleas of insanity?

Why would you ask me that?

Happened in WA, I think max 6 years presuming no actual abuse, considering mental impairment, best taxpayer funded legal team possible, I reckon he will get 4 years, be out in 2.

That's interesting.

Assuming he didn't touch her, and he does have some sort of serious mental health issue, I reckon he won't do any time in prison.

I usually see Tom Percy briefly in the morning, if I go into my office, so I'll ask him his thoughts on the matter tomorrow if he's around.

Yes, Id be interested too. Doubt if Tom Percy would give his opinion though, that would not be ethical. Nice name drop though, well done.

Not really a name drop - he just works in the same building as me.  Not close buddies or anything.

But yeah, I doubt he'll tell me much but I'll still try to work it into the conversation if I see him.

We share a common interest in guitars (and the blues), which is what we usually talk about.

We'll see.

Get him stoned.

Not a good article on Tom Percy. It highlights how stupid he is. Haven't you been able to google anything else on that name? Preferably something positive?

I must admit, I don't agree with him on a lot of things.

But his love of blues guitar make him okay in my book.

Here we go, what a grub.

Jesinta Franklin has deleted an Instagram post that questioned if Cleo Smith would have been found on Wednesday if she was Indigenous.

https://www.news.com.au/national/western-australia/jesinta-franklin-and-other-ce...

I had only briefly looked at this topic on Jesinta. What she does not seem to realise is that indigenous people spend less time trying to inform the public that there is a missing relative. I did read a Facebook post about not wanting the name and image of the boy who was missing to be published on social media. They had some kind of sorry day, in case he had passed away. And there seems to be a tendency to let indigenous matters take care of themselves. I do hope that I have misinterpreted what I thought I read. It is depressing that indigenous people seem to rely on superstition to solve their problems, or not even try to resolve a missing person case.

As much as I want child abductors to get their comeuppance, rewarding prisoners for bashing another inmate is not the way to go about it. Let the justice system do its job. Then we can let the convicted get the punishment he/she deserves.

Much less than Chamberlain...

But then there's also Bradley Murdoch's murder of Peter Falconio.

Okay. We'll have to see.

I reckon they'll make a movie for sure.

It's the old theme... Weird sh!t happens in empty land.

I 'feel' he is both mentally insufficient and mentally deficient.  A simple soul who is not quite right in the head, and does not truly understand the difference between criminal action and simply pursuing an aim - in this case I would suggest, wanting to have a 'baby' of his own.

He doesn't seem to have harmed Cleo directly, other than by locking her up....

Only what I 'feel' about this... these things cause me a lurch in the chest and a terrible outcry of the soul to the aggrieved... which, as a rational human being, I will not permit to lead me into a lynch mob mentality, and demand the instant lynching of anyone guilty of such a vile thing.

I think he needs to be in an institution, but not a prison... just a feeling.

I've been wrong before... unlike some here, I am not perfect.

Prison is not punishment enough for some crimes.

A murderer, a child rapist, an embezzler, a corporate cheat - they all go to prison. But it's not the same thing - yet its the sameish prison.

Prisoners have a keener sense of justice than the justice system - so they bash and kill child rapists.

Prisoners are not treated badly, considering the crimes they might commit. But, if someone bashes a prisoner before a trial, it might aid in the defense of the accused during trial.

All true.  It's sort of par for the course, and is one reason authorities don't pay as much attention to missing Indigenous kids as they do others.  There is a resistance in the Indigenous community to anyone actually doing anything about it.

Not always true, but they can be very insular, and a missing daughter is most likely shacked up with some jerk, so they don't bother.

Sadly, this lead to a lack of a genuine official response to things like the death of an Aboriginal mother of seven up this way, on a beach following a night of wild sex with two blokes.  She bled to death after extreme sexual behaviour, the two blokes tried to cover it up, and the police hardly even looked into it until pushed, even though the evidence was right there for any true investigator.

This is a two-way street - it's not all Whartey's fault, and it's not all Indigenous fault... the two really need to sit down at a round table and work these things out, make some hard and fast rules that guarantee that all are treated equally as OUR Law demands.
