Wow! Cynicism much?

Don't cops also have kids?

Sure they are, but we forget most good police work is because of information received.  Breaking down someones door and rescuing a child is good police work.

It does seem to be a fluke.

I heard the copper this morning admit that they were "looking for a needle in a haystack".

It appears they had no leads whatsoever.

Vigilant Woolworths shoppers nabbed the bastard.

Well, they alerted police to his suspicious behaviour and gave them his address.

Given the many cock-ups over the years with police publishing information too early or unlawfully identifying suspects, this seems like they're learning to be more media savvy.

Maybe what the police really knew about this case may never be made public... Or further arrests, if they occur, may indicate what they know now, but are not making public.

Great news.

I hope that the MSM will give Cleo and family some 'space', to try to normalise again.

The WA police could be the best in the world -
or it was a miracle that they found her.

More info coming today. It will probably be something like chasing down CCTV footage, petrol station purchases etc.

One of the best bits of police work in Australia is probably the sting that caught Brett Peter Cowan.

OK...

BTW, which police force in Australia are the relative brainiacs?

Latest news ABC 24.

Extra police sent to Carnarvon in case of "public disorder."

Translation - the police fear a lynching in a small town.
There is probably already someone with a rope made up into a noose.

Ive dealt with most of them, even NT beat them. You ever been to WA? Unfortunately I am condemned to live here for a while.  Local news consists of the weather and feel good stories about cats stuck in trees and the huge debate raging over whether the homeless should be allowed to sh1t and sleep in shop doorways sending them out of business.

Yes, the Cowan sting was grand. The way it is supposed to be done without all the huffing and puffing and press leaks.
