I see WA police are now attempting to take full credit for the childs finding and rescue. And declining to pay any of the promised reward to the people who actually did find her.

From everything I've read, the neighbour spotted the guy buying nappies, but never reported it to police. They tracked his car their so no reward.

The local said he saw his neighbour “buying Kimbies” at the nearby Woolworths supermarket on Monday, even though he is not believed to have young children.

“We didn’t click on about who it was he was buying it for until now.”

Got a link, this is all I've seen. I reckon a lot of the reports today will be a bit garbled by the media, should get some clarity in the next few days.

This was updated a few hours ago.

Other neighbours have said he was seen recently buying nappies, which raised questions for them.

Whether it was that information or something else that led police to the door of the unremarkable house has yet to be revealed.

Why isn't AiA back at PA posting away?

Probably to teach you a lesson about banning people.  Do you really reckon you can toss sand in the face of people and expect not to have your nuts kicked in?

Aussie,
keep your nose out of things you know nothing about.

if you kept out of things you know nothing about you'd never be allowed anywhere near a moderator button

I still can't believe I was banned then subsequently unbanned before my ban was up because Bobby was reminded that I couldn't discuss the petition I started (which saw me banned) if I remained banned.

Allow me to summarise all that :

Such wonderful news. Pure joy.

It just breaks my heart to come here and see it being turned foul by the "usual suspects". To use one of the truly rare and precious feel-good stories the media relate as a platform for hatred and bigotry has me feeling deeply sorry for you.

Imagine. to live a life where this is your emphasis?

Meanwhile, i'll just jeep on feeling joy.

Many blessings on all who had a part in reuniting her with her family.

That… is disrespectful, and like hell anyone will trust the police reward offer in future. People won’t forget this.

A reward is due to the ones that did the right thing, whether they’re, black, white, green, drinkers or not…. they did “the right conscientious thing” for that little girl to get found.

Realistically, the informant should be proud to have done the right thing -- reward or not. If the reward was the only reason to have told the police about the child, then the informant would be wise not to complain if he is not given any reward. He could get accused of being an accessory to child abduction.

The likelihood is that whatever reward the police offer the informant will be down the track and undisclosed to the public.

Yeah, I was pretty disgusted by what I saw coming from the usual suspects.

Sickened, actually.

For once, we had a good news story that could unite the country and they used it to push their racist agenda and further divide us.

How utterly immoral must one be to exploit the kidnapping of a 4-year-old girl in a bid to score cheap political points? And on the day she was rescued. Just hours after the event.

Truly the dregs of society.

Anyway, good to see her back home and she looked to be in excellent health judging from the hospital photo.

Sounds about right.  Not likely they'll parade their source and make him/her a public figure.  Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of the professionally outraged?  There may be some who seek revenge for this 'betrayal' of one of theirs.  People don't always think straight...

Maybe the person doesn't want to be known so as to not be mobbed by hangers-on....
