27 yrs ago in 1994 a 16yr old bloke with a long history of criminal behaviour & violence broke into the home(with assistance) of a deaf mute couple, tied them up, raped and murdered their little blonde 2 year old daughter Kate Beveridge by picking her by her ankles and slamming her head on the ground.

He had used a condom when raping her but it broke and he partially disemboweled her trying to clean out his DNA evidence. Her body was found on the railway line next to the units where she lived.

Police were physically sickened by what they found.

This scumbag who I knew because he had played junior footy with my club as a little kid and was at primary school with my kids was tracked down by the condom packet batch number to a pharmacy at Caloundra and the Visa card used to buy it belonged to a foster parent where he stayed.

When he was arrested and charged his family and extended family here partied for 4 days.. it got so the local cabbies refused to take their fares.

Those people also knew who the others were that assisted this grub to break in and tie up the parents but not one has ever volunteered to turn them in.

The case caused a state review of our youth justice system in regards to heinous crimes after this low life only got 12 years as that was the maximum allowable because of his age.
