https://au.yahoo.com/finance/news/westpac-raises-rates-for-3rd-time-in-a-month-2...

Just glad I got in and fixed all my interest rates for 3 years.

Lord knows where things will be at after that.

You can't say it's unexpected.

Interest rates could not remain low forever.
They have been low for a very long time.
Us self funded retirees have been living with record low interest rates for years.

What goes around.
The US interest rates have been on the rise for a while and we usually follow suit.

As interest rates rise, hopefully so will retiree investments.

Its about bloody time too. If near zero interest rates continue, people will start believing its their "right."

Of course interest rates will go up eventually , theres no great feat in forecasting that. Banks are reassessing risk based on new government guidelines, at this stage its possible to discount your rates still. I got a 3/4 percent decrease from CBA about 3 weeks ago. Its the people who are highly leveraged who the banks are shafting atm. If the bank is putting your rates up at the moment then thats a message that you are higher risk.

What are you on about?

If you're an investor then your interest rates went up a month ago (irrespective of your LVR ratio) along with decreasing borrowing capacity thanks to tighter lending criteria.

All while the Reserve Bank has held its rate at 0.1%.

You do realise what this means .... yes?

Oh hang on .... you probably have SFA idea because you're that liar who wrote some BS about being offered $3 million by a BANK on a totally unsecured basis?  😂🤣😆
