Austria imposes full lockdown, Germany may follow

Here we go again. Just as QANTAS starts its international flights again.

Austria to reimpose full lockdown from Monday
Germany can't rule out following suit, minister says
Europe lockdown fears knock stocks
VIENNA/BERLIN, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Austria will become the first country in western Europe to reimpose a full COVID-19 lockdown, it said on Friday as neighbouring Germany warned it may follow suit, sending shivers through financial markets worried about the economic fallout.

A fourth wave of infections has plunged Germany, Europe's largest economy, into a national emergency, Health Minister Jens Spahn said. He urged people to reduce their social contacts, warning that vaccinations alone would not reduce case numbers.

Austria said it would require the whole population to be vaccinated as of February.

Roughly two-thirds of Austria's population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, one of the lowest rates in western Europe. Its infections are among the highest on the continent, with a seven-day incidence of 991 per 100,000 people.

"We have not succeeded in convincing enough people to get vaccinated," Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg told a news conference, saying the lockdown would start on Monday and the requirement to be vaccinated on Feb. 1.

"It hurts that such measures still have to be taken."

Asked if Germany could rule out an Austrian-style full lockdown, Spahn said: "We are now in a situation - even if this produces a news alert - where we can't rule anything out.

"We are in a national emergency," he told a news conference. ...

Meanwhile, back here in the Land of Oz we're still going 'full steam ahead' to have everything reopened as soon as possible as if the pandemic is over.

Flight Centre is happy.
Qantas is happy.
Virgin is happy.
Big Business in general is happy.

Judging by the amount of advertising they've been doing lately, especially Virgin. No doubt Jayne is hoping everyone has forgotten her big foot in mouth episode back in May by now.

(I haven't and I will NEVER fly with them. That's not to say that QANTAS or the other airlines are any better, of course).

And, Scotty from Marketing is no doubt happy because I'm sure he believes all of this will improve his re-election chances which is all he's concerned about at the moment.

Better hurry up and call that early election ScoMo because, as I've said several times already - I'm predicting most of Australia will be in lockdown again by Christmas.

if you ever wanted proof that the vaccines are not going to end covid this is it.

very highly vaccinated populations and surging cases.

we must accept personal responsibility for our health, lose weight, hit the gym and get healthy.

and then those of us who have garbage health will just have to self isolate so that the superior man can continue with life.

it is not going to be possible to have 80 % of the population in lockdown permanently to protect the 20 % with garbage health.

not when there are no sterilising vaccines or treatments.

they will have to live like hermits or take their chances by moving out into life with a spirit of adventure

I know that. You know that. And, I strongly suspect most of the population also know that.

But, governments and big business don't care and don't want us to know and think about that because, as I've said many times before - money is more important than peoples' lives as far as they are concerned.

Very soon its going to bite them (and all of us, unfortunately) in the @ss big time.

Austria has a very low vaccination rate.

Moreover, Austria is a very insular nation.

I know - I've lived there.

It's a beautiful place, with some of the best scenery and food in the world, but the people (as nice as they are) are very insular.

They see COVID as a problem for the rest of the world - it's not something they need to worry about.

With an attitude like that, along with their very low vaccination rate, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

Armed with my international vaccination certificate, I was gearing up to go back to Austria next year but I have serious doubts that will be happening now.

Austria and Germany are both about 65% vaccinated.
US 60%. Sweden 74%. Australia 71%.

Austria rises up against health dictatorship - Government in panic

The police and the army refuse to control the health passes in the name of “freedom and human dignity”...

This is a resounding slap in the face for the government, which, according to the Austrian media, is becoming increasingly panicked.
Hermann Greylinger, president of the Social Democratic Trade Unions (FSG) and the police union, left no doubt in an interview that the police feel unable to carry out these checks, according to the weekly Wochenblick.

Manfred Haidinger (FGÖ) added in his letter: “We hereby point out that participation in assemblies is a particularly protected legal right and that this is also taken into account in the currently available draft ordinance. Participation and travel throughout Austria is permitted.”
Even if non-vaccinated people are advised to travel by private transport.

Finally, the letter points out that “the ban on a meeting planned by citizens as well as the ban on a political party rally have been recognized as illegal” by the Vienna Administrative Court.

You do realize the picture you posted was taken in Toronto, Canada, eh?

https://www.blogto.com/city/2015/02/a_brief_history_of_anti-vaccination_in_toron...

Quote:
On November 13, 1919, a couple of hundred protesters gathered on the steps of City Hall to air their discontent with the city's compulsory vaccination program.

Since 1914, Toronto had been allowed by the province to vaccinate school children against smallpox in the event of an outbreak, with or without the permission of parents.

And, it was most fortunate there was a vaccine available even back then because we all know how bad smallpox was.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smallpox

Really, really bad.

I disagree. The virus slumbers somewhat during summer and summer is just around the corner... But not to worry, your prediction will materialize when the weather cools, forcing us all inside to breathe one another's germs.

Leave him alone !
HE can present conspiracy theory on vaccines and chemtrails better than ANYONE

What is the value of
'Big Newspaper'
(so called) "facts"
when you have all the information on everything from pandemics to climate change,
right there at your fingertips, from bitchute.com and infowars.com ?

And there's NO denying,
he draws memes very prettily

Look at Europe, living the good life, us in lockdown, it's a joke. What's happened to our once proud country, our fine, can-do spirit?

You predicted all this. Follow the "noble Donald", you said (just not his diet). Open the gymnasiums. Send your vaccines off to Pakistan. Do some star jumps. Eat an orange.

Why aren't we following the noble Austrians?
