Well - two wongs don't make a white... you know that... some may consider Penny stupid in her utterances because she has slanty eyes - I figure she's just a stupid backroom fed political animal with no solid grounding in reality or in facts.... what sounds good in the party room doesn't make it in the real world - ask Scomo ...

No wonder Labor can't oust those idiots....

P.S.  Greg, there are several that people here do not pay a lot of attention to - 'Mr Bundy' is one of them since he is an obvious troll - the kind of name I ignore the moment I see it... be wary of becoming the same...

I see Smith, Bundy, mothra unless I feel like baiting the bear, jim lahey (who many say are you incarnate DILLIGAF?), Karnal who is so bizarre nobody takes him/her seriously, and a few others- and simply pass them by unless I feel like sticking a needle in them... though some need a needle in the arm in an execution chamber ..... freed?  Bobby?

Amazing how these people get national coverage for their silly ideas. Wong has her strong points - international relationships is obviously not one of them.

It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if an identical like (bundy) is one of the Mothra (aka Titwhack) types, just writing something they can virtue signal against.

She is half Chinese Malay.

Her mother is white Australian.

An outstanding example of why we do not want career politicians, and why they should be restricted to two terms and no more.  They all become nothing but empty sounding boards for whatever party silliness is in vogue at the time and become so locked into their easy lifestyle on fat salary and massive perks - each costing the taxpayer near $3m a year in direct costs - and forget what they are there for while lost in the idea that they are just there to 'wedge' the opposition and play games.

Talk about the need for a new broom.....

A good example of Dunning-Kruger... As if anybody could be a politician. Good ones take years to develop into effective ones and before that they usually have had an interest in politics since they were teenagers.

Yes, there are 'bad eggs'.. Name an industry or profession that doesn't have them.

What should be abolished is upper houses... That's where you'll find inexperienced or undemocratically appointed swill who often find themselves holding the balance of power.

It's not about 'being a good politician' playing games - it's about doing the job you are elected and paid to do - not just parrot party nonsense daily.  It's not about the appearance of looking good for the cameras etc or being an upstanding rep of some 'minority' - it's about doing the job.

Politicians too long in the job forget their place and what they are there for - after all - it won't affect them if they posture and make silly moves - they're covered for life already, right?

Simple.  There are capable people out here who could do the job without all the garbage that party politics brings... and keep an eye on the simple reality that they are there to husband this nation on behalf of the people - not to govern it in any way they choose as their personal fiefdom.

On the subject of CCP aggression - Wong is being utterly stupid in using it as a political point scoring op - if the Anschluss takes place all the way down to Singapore - will she still feel the same?

Yes, of course... Just like being a mechanic is all about wearing blue overalls with grease splattered all over them and playing the game of finding a shopping list of problems on a customer's car.

Silly comparison - a mechanic has to deal with hard and simple mechanical things - when people play politics instead of being representatives, they are just making it up as they go along - then they lose track altogether.

Look how far the likes of Albo are from the simple reality, laid out time and again, that there is no 'wage gap' unless you look at what is paid to women compared to what is paid to men per hour actually worked - when it is clearly in favour of women.

That's the sort of utter stupidity I mean - adhering to the party line and just posturing does nothing for reality and hard facts - and has no relationship to being a mechanic and the need to actually do things and get them right.

A politician can dick around for years playing party games and never achieve a thing, and yet be lauded as a 'good politician'.

Nah then - what has St Penny of The Wong ever done for us exactly?

No. It's synonymous with: 'politicians are all the same... They're only in it for themselves'...

You're just proving that its an easy trap to think you know more than you do about something you've never done.

Try it yourself... Let us know how you get on.

Fine - when do I start?  When to I get a Minister portfolio?  Oh, sorry - I'd have to suck up to one of the major parties to get that gig, and instantly fall into the same trap of being a party empty head mouth-piece and not a person of principle and character.

You prove my point .....  now - which party do you think will sweep me into its ranks?  Labor for my opposition to feminism and all its bullshit and my opposition to all the other bullshit that passes for social science these days that somehow rules the roost... Liberal for my opposition to developing a new feudal society of imbalance .... the Greens.. well... let's not go there... so who?

If Labor had any sense they'd have listened to me years ago..... and actually done the right thing for all and not their special interest groups... and actually work as the Law requires them to do.

While I agree with you often - not this time.  Don't take it personally.

I still say we do not need or want career politicians who go stale and empty - we do not need party politics at local level - and local and state should stay out of many areas that are federal and vice versa.  And we need an overhaul of how the money is spent.

You could start as an independent... Then there's the 14 hour days of working for your prospective electorate...

Don't go down the Peter Garrett path who thought, like you, it would be a piece of piss...

Ha, ha - the difficulty is not in having solid policies - it is in having the coverage of them in a realistic manner, as opposed to propaganda from a tame media, and getting the general voter to move far from the established parties, as if by wandering too far they will fall over the edge of the world and into chaos.

Many simply don't think that much.

14 hour days?  Piffle - no problem at all....

My basic policy platform is simple - and laid out here many times, and includes a review of immigration, politician perks and such, privatisation, and many other things.

The hard part is getting people to actually see that they are losing from those things on a daily basis, and are being taken to the cleaners.... anything too radical frightens them... Jesus - years ago the Australia whatever party terrified the electorate by having their old ladies being called Nazis for wanting to control immigration and return it to a more congenial mix rather than the current wide open madness...

Christ, son - even at local level the small fry don't get on the wahless to push their views... there is zero concept of all getting the same level of hearing so that the electorate can actually decide.  When the electorate only hears from Labor or Liberal or Greens, how are they to work out the value or otherwise of the views of Independents?
