You would expect someone to die at any day, given that they are over 100 years old. But that person would still have been part of their children's lives for several decades. So, it would hurt for a while. If anyone in my family died today, I would not be well for a long time. Physically. Emotionally. You are never too old to mourn.

Aussie, how about just deleting this thread. I feel the tone is already wrong.

if you think (you know him better) this will upset him or cause any sort of angst, delete it. It is no the time for our standard forum BS on a personal matter such is this. A thread dedicated to this is completely unnecessary.

If Monk wants to share about it or how he feels, he should initiate it, we should be empathetic if he wants to share or discuss on a public forum.
