Last time I went to a buffet I had to muscle my way through John Smith's fat sweaty family to get to the food.

Most in this forum wouldn't know manners or common sense if it crawled up into their noses.

Never hold your knife like a pen.

I'm thinking more which implements to use at what stage of dining.
And the basic methodology of using them.

How many people do you see there days using a fork as a shovel.
Or holding their knives like a pen.
I have even seen them held in a fist.
Many don't know in which order to use them.

English etiquette for eating was quite barbaric at one stage.

One had to bite the meat and using one's dagger cut the meat as close to one's lips as possible.
Bones and unwanted food must be discarded over ones shoulder, not under the table.

I can't remember them all, but it must have been quite the display in them days.

Similar to some barbarians eating KFC today.

Bite the chicken

(don't strangle it or spank the monkey if in China etc)

, cut the corner as close to your lips as possible, throw the bones and packing out the car window for someone else to pick up or to just lie there on the street ...... speed away and never expect anyone to have recorded you on a car camera...
