Not being an American yourself it's easy why you can't see your obvious error.....

ALL Americans know, or should have been taught in primary school (grade school) as I was, that a law is only as good as the ability to enforce it.......ergo......without the Second Amendment, The People's Right to Keep & Bear Arms, they wouldn't be able to force their government to abide by all the other laws, or replace their government...the servants of the People, as a last resort, by force if necessary......in order to secure their American Rights.....their Freedoms & Liberties.......from being dismissed by an authoritarian & tyrannical government.

America has gone past the point of reason and objectivity....There is no way the NRA and Republican party will restrict gun sales to anyone who wants one....Sensible gun reforms like background checks, gun licence and securing all weapons are resisted in every Republican State....Americans feel safer when everyone has an assault rifle....Go figure???

Well, if the People in any particular State were to decide that all the People should have the Right to Constitutional Carry, they would no longer need to go hat in hand to any government for a permit in order to carry a concealed firearm to be used specifically for self-defense....to preserve their own lives, the lives of their loved ones, their friends & fellow citizens, & also to protect their property.......until then, present day State gun law remains in effect.

Saying something more stupid does not dig you out of the hole you are in.

Without the first amendment there is nothing for the second to protect. However the second is no longer about that as it was redefined in 2008. The militia needed to rectify the things you say was removed from the amendment an favor of allowing school shootings with no reasonable gun control and such.

Panther, from a few years of conversing with this bunch it has become my opinion most are comforted to be subservient to government. As children we were taught our Rights come from our creator, not man and they only end where the Rights of others begin. It bothers them terribly we are not stratified at birth like they believe they are. When you don't tar all Americans with the same brush you realize only subcultures are responsible for violent crime. The evil white man here is less violent and more law abiding then the average Australian. The idea that we can legally respond to a threat seems to bother them.
