The Shire died after the Cronulla Riots when their justified anger was oppressed by the Media and Police against the Moslems.
More Moslems there now, than before. Soon a Mosque.
Sydney is known for its Entertainment Venues more than its Sport (unlike Melbourne) - so who cares about the NRL?

The Shire is long gone. A myth of the past.
