BEWARE - Rapid Antigen Test Kits and PRICE GOUGING
Jan 1st, 2022 at 1:52pm

You have to ASK yourself
HOW do these people SLEEP at night ?

Sydney woman pays $25 for rapid antigen test
after chemist sells multipack individually

Just a couple of weeks ago, Anne-Marie Mannil could buy
a five-pack rapid antigen test (RAT) kit from her local pharmacy in north-west Sydney for $50.

This week, she paid $25 for a single test in a zip-lock bag.

"As the stocks are becoming more sparse, some retailers are taking advantage of that situation," she said.

"And divvying-up the packs, that they obviously get from the wholesalers, into single packs, into resealable plastic bags not too dissimilar to a drug dealer, it’s unscrupulous gouging."

She ended up paying $100 for four tests.

You get what you pay for in 'self-indulgent' Australia.
One of the most over-inflated nations on the planet for years.
Surprised we got them so cheap in the first place.

I saw on TV that those rapid tests are only 20% effective
at picking up a positive case so
they miss out on 4 out of 5 cases compared to a PCR test.

In other words - don't waste your money.

Have to admit this is a stroke of 'genius' by the Federal and State governments.

Close down testing places and then rely on people doing their own testing by buying Rapid Antigen Test kits.

Problem is, no-one can buy them anywhere and if by some miracle they do find some they're being sold for rip off prices.

As I said - its a stroke of 'genius' because all this means is that testing numbers will drop dramatically and so will the number of daily cases being reported, even if they're really still increasing. The redefining of 'close contacts' last week also reduces the number of people being tested.

Donald Trump would be proud of what's happening here.

Must also have something to do with all this "personal responsibility" BS we've been hearing about lately from Scott Morrison and Dominic Perrottet. Someone commented the other day that if everything is now going to be about personal responsibility then why do we need governments? Good question.

I also notice today that the Queensland Premier is proudly announcing the purchase of 18 million test kits.

https://twitter.com/AnnastaciaMP/status/1477801774283059200

Interesting that Annastacia (actually her social media team) hasn't 'retweeted' the daily Queensland Covid case numbers from Queensland Health for several days now. I wonder why? (hint: they're going up and up each day - 4,249 new cases today. Just like South Australia, the ACT and Tasmania).

Well, the 18 million test kits are a step in the right direction but I have to wonder how much all this is going to end up costing compared with the cost of not allowing Covid to get into Australia and get loose to begin with?

From The Chaser:

Morrison confused why poor don’t simply test themselves with cake

Quote:
Frequent Flyer and part time Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, has today taken a break from his well earned holiday after a heavy year of dodging responsibility, to question his butler about why the poor keep asking him for things.

“One is most perplexed. Don’t these peasants know that tax dollars aren’t meant for their unwashed hands?” a confused Morrison asked while aboard his $3 million a year private jet. “Why, if they want to afford tests so badly, shouldn’t they just sell one of their many investment properties? That’s what I would do.”

“I simply do not understand why they are making such a fuss,” he continued. “I already gave Gerry Harvey all the tests and $22 million. Surely by now that has trickled down to the plebs?”

There's more than a grain of truth in all this.

Your maiden aunt commented.

Not everything is personal responsibility but some things are. Taking care of yourself is such a thing.  No government can make you sensible, you have to decide some things for yourself. If you anx your 90 year olc maiden aunt think that's BS then you are too far gone on the dependency scale.

Look at the places doing this.

On Tuesday afternoon, a convenience store in Sydney’s Canterbury, Ready To Go, was offering a pack of two RATs for $65 on Uber Eats – with the item showing as “popular” – and EzyMart Cronulla was selling a two-pack for $55.

Crown Square Convenience Store in Waterloo was advertising COVID-19 antigen tests for $39.99 for two

This might be helpful.

Should have had something like this for the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020.

again the mixed messaging

qld has gone from begging people to have 10's od 10,000 of tests at a cost of 100's of millions when no on had it  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

to now admonishing people for having tests when itys everywhere Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

to suggesting people get RAT tests which are dubious in their accuracy Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

and, at the same time declaring "everyone will get it and assume everyone else has it"

so , in 2 or 3 weeks their will be a haze like smog of virus over every town and city , what purpose does testing serve??????

add to that critical workers are now being told they can and should go to work regardless of their still sprading it Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

and those who are triple vaxxed will probably have it and spread it whilst never even knowing they have it Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

why keep the cultural hypnosis going?

covid covid covid
test test test
keep you safe keep you safe.

aquascoot calls BS on all of this.

it will achieve absolutley nothing

it is as meaningless as continuing to do deep cleans

this is a respiratory virus

its like a head cold

stop the catastrophising

the panic will do you literally no good

dont let the mainstream media and politicians continue the panic

be like gordon , buy some panadol and zinc and vitamin c and chill.

it will all be over in 8 weeks

you cant outrun your destiny

Order a meal and throw in a couple of test kits now from Uber Eats.

Only $65 for 2 tests, home delivered. What a bargain!  Roll Eyes

Nothing like a good old pandemic to bring out the greed in some people.

Just like we saw with toilet paper and other essentials during lockdowns.

The gouging is absolutely disgusting, and the pharmacies doing it should be forever boycotted.

However, some pharmacies do the right thing and some customers can be real pricks.

I was in a chemist yesterday and witnessed the workers being abused by some old prick who wasn't able to buy a box of masks.

They were still waiting on back-orders of the masks to arrive, and were therefore being responsible with the very limited supply they had.

A box of 10 is usually $35, but they had opened the boxes and were selling them for $3.50 each with a maximum of two masks per customer.

Sensible, responsible, and fair.

However, this old prick thought it was his birthright to buy a full box and he wasn't leaving until they sold him one.

He abused several staff members, and made a general nuisance of himself.

Staff did the right thing and ignored him once the abuse started, and he eventually left empty handed.

Stupid old prick.

And made in China, I'm somewhat skeptical.
