As I was too weak to drive let alone get out of bed to go to the loo for over a week n half… it was near end of 2nd week I went to get pcr test.
Then as I’m feeling better… and it comes back positive… I was in Covid jail for 7 days after.
Once it was over and message came through I was free to go out… that was a thrill  Grin

You got it good.

My neighbour just told me about friends of theirs, early 70s. Husband fit, wife had a big round of chemo 3 months ago, both vax x3.

It bounced off her just like a head cold. Husband had a head cold for a few days, woke up in the middle of the night on day 2 and vomited up a bucket full of black muck, went to hospital, discharged in the morning.

He felt better but still pretty bad. They called him in the afternoon and asked him to come in. They gave him a new treatment via IV, he woke up in the morning totally fine.

I'll have to find out what the treatment was.

Welcome back Lols.
Some hours ago, I was going to post in Travel (Surreal...) as to "Where's Lols?"

Sad to read of your experience, seemed pretty bad regardless.
Am glad you are well again. Smiley

I’m back again and feel better and more energetic thank goodness.
I believe we (hubby, daughter and I) had a cocktail of Delta with omicron according to the symptoms!
It was like having the flu but only 5 times longer lasting and longer recovery rate.
Was good to know from medical phone calls that if I can still breath okay and have no chest pains… it’s not a danger. Glad none of us had to go to ED.
Couldn’t eat anything during the virus infection… just drink through a straw water or fruit juice.
The nausea I disliked and a bucket was my constant companion  Grin
The worst part of it all I would say was the way this infection attacked the muscles and I had hardly any strength… remember wondering how heavy it was to lift a bottle of 2 litre orange juice. Oh and the mouth ulcers! Ouch so painful… I was weirdly disassociating myself from my painful mouth.
But the best part at end of it.. lost 6 kgs from inability to eat.
Only symptoms now are occasional cough and unable to taste or smell yet.
Except for peppermint and cloves.
I asked my doctor recently when will our taste/smell return… she couldn’t answer it and doesn’t know.
I figured out… since I felt this COVID was 5 times longer than flu … it will take a few months to get taste back.. I hope… I haven’t any appetite as a result. Seems it was like a 3 week severe detox during COVID and now something has altered within my constitution.

For instance… I loved chocolate… now it gives me stomach pains!
I don’t drink coffee anymore and I have deleted sugar from my diet.

So it seems some good can come about from a Covid experience.

I was asked by a friend “Were you scared”
I answered I was not … just inconvenienced with little energy.
I said as I was able to breath okay and no chest pains… maybe we were the luckier ones in that high percentage of Covid survivors.  Smiley
We are all good here.
Just wanted to share my experience.
I know some folk get it mild for a few days…
Glad we all took decades of vitamin supplements  … including vit c, d, zinc and NAC. We don’t drink nor smoke either. And are on rain water tank.
So in a way… I had great faith in my immune system.
I am nearly 68 yrs of age… now that’s a vulnerable age group for Covid yeah?

Good to see you back safe and sound lols. Sounds like you copped it much worse than I did. When i got it I was fatigued for a few days but other than that I was perfectly fine. Wife was similar but she also had some  coughing for a couple of days.

A work colleague on the other hand was left grasping for air for about a week. She was terrified she would die. And she's only in her mid twenties and otherwise was perfectly healthy before this episode.

Glad you're out the other side, Lols. Doesn't sound like you had much fun.

I have not been tested (ever) and I cannot say for sure that I contracted covid. But, I think I had covid last week and got better after a few days. I found that my food was not tasting very good. My breathing was pretty good. And it seems like I had a head cold for a little while. I am currently doing an ear clear. What I have found with that is I do not have a wax build-up in either ear. I think I might have a test on the next available appointment.
