Zoom in on the bottle of vit D, it's 1000IU. I got everyone (not the 4 year old) to take x6 and that's it for the week. Yes you can take a week's allowance in one go.

Taking 60,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity. This level is many times higher than the U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for most adults of 600 IU of vitamin D a day.

60,000 Iu would be taking 60 tablets a day how many are in the bottle and would that be a bottle a day?

Quote:
The Institute of Medicine's Food and Nutrition Board's old 1997 recommendations suggested that 2,000 IU per day of vitamin D is safe for adults and that 1,000 IU per day is safe for infants up to 12 months of age. Many observers expected a drastic increase in the IOM's 2010 update.

That didn't exactly happen. The IOM committee did increase its "upper level intake" -- that is, the boundary at which it feared vitamin D would become unsafe. That dose is 4,000 IU/day for adults, 3,000 IU/day for kids ages 4-8, 2,500 IU/day for kids ages 1-3, 1,500 IU/day for infants ages 6-12 months, and 1,000 IU/day for infants ages 0-6 months.

But some recent studies suggest that healthy adults can tolerate more than 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day. John Jacob Cannell, MD, executive director of The Vitamin D Council, notes that the skin makes 10,000 IU of vitamin D after 30 minutes of full-body sun exposure. He suggests that 10,000 IU of vitamin D is not toxic.

According to the National Institutes of Health, 25-OHD levels that are consistently over 200 ng/mL are "potentially toxic."

https://www.webmd.com/osteoporosis/features/the-truth-about-vitamin-d-can-you-ge...

15 minutes on your back followed by 15 minutes face down in the sun while nearly naked gives you 10,000 IU a day it's cheaper than supplements. Most people can handle 10-12 minutes easily without burning.

For best protection you need just over 50 Ng/Ml.

Quote:
Recommendations on optimal vitamin D levels vary, but research suggests that levels between 30–60 ng/mL are likely optimal and may help protect against illness and disease

Most cases of vitamin D toxicity are caused by inappropriate supplement dosing and prescription errors.

For example, in a 2020 case report, a 73-year-old man developed vitamin D toxicity after taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day for many years

In another 2020 case report, a 56-year-old woman who took an average of 130,000 IU of vitamin D per day for 20 months in hopes of improving symptoms of multiple sclerosis was hospitalized for symptoms including nausea, vomiting, and muscle weakness.

Her vitamin D levels were discovered to be 265 ng/mL (11Trusted Source).

Note that 130,000 IU is over 30 times the generally recommended safe upper limit of 4,000 IU per day.

Keep in mind that people who are low or deficient in vitamin D typically need to take much higher levels than the current Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) of 4,000 IU per day to reach and maintain optimal vitamin D levels.

a 2015 case study reported that an older man with dementia who received 50,000 IU of vitamin D daily for 6 months was repeatedly hospitalized with symptoms related to high calcium levels

In another case study, an 18-month-old child who was given 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 for 3 months experienced diarrhea, stomach pain, and other symptoms. These symptoms resolved after the child stopped taking the supplements

In a 2021 case report, a 64-year-old man accidentally took 200,000 IU of vitamin D per day because he misunderstood medication instructions. He showed altered mental status and other serious symptoms related to hypercalcemia

Vitamin D deficiency is generally recognized as serum vitamin D levels less than 20 ng/mL. People who have levels that fall between 21–29 ng/mL are considered to have insufficient vitamin D levels

Healthcare professionals may recommend people who are very low in vitamin D take very high weekly doses of 50,000 IU for 8 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose of 2,000 IU per day after their levels reach 30 ng/mL

Make sure to avoid excessive doses of vitamin D. Generally, for people with adequate vitamin D levels, taking supplements of 4,000 IU or fewer per day is considered safe.

https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-d-side-effects#The-bottom-line

You have to take a shitload of Vit D tablets for a long time to have problems.

We never take D in summer, 4 tablets a week in winter. Good insurance.

interesting that israel is currently onto pfizer jab 4 and has a higher death rate then surrounding palestine which has very low vaccination rates.

you can kick back with a beer and watch the rest of australia confront the sniffles.

pfizer will be very disappointed they cant monetise you anymore, they might get their mates at google and facebook to ban you if you post that it was no big deal. cant have their bottom line compromised

It's actually good timing for Omicron to let rip in Australia.

We're all recently vaxxed, Omicron and reportedly milder and doesn't attack the lungs as much. Vaccination + exposure = best immunity.

So based on your family, 1 in 4 will feel "hit like a truck".  If that holds true to the rest of the infected, that's quite serious i would think.  And this hit some young and healthy.  So could be lot worse for those on a poor starting point.

Not to mention, would you take a 1 in 4 chance for your loved ones of "being hit by a truck", if a vaccine which has about 1 in 2 or 3 million chance of very bad side effects?

incorrect.

yes, a few people will die from omicron.

but not 100's of 1000's.

we have 40 % reductions in screening for breast , bowel and prostate cancer over the last 2years.
they kill , between them, 40,000 people per year.

so that alone  will result in more deaths then omicron.

i have relatives in the health system.

covid testing clinics at the biggest local hospital are staffed by nurses from that hospital.
thats pulling resources , cash and expertise out of the hospital to achiveve what exactly?

we know that it is everywhere, so what does all this testing prove.

they say they are exhausted from all the testing and the public calling the hospital non stop , asking about where to get a test and the admin staff put it thru to the charge nurse. they cant do their job.

they get one positive case and they have to spend hours moving 170 kg people from room to room in face masks and sticky gowns.

of course they are exhausted!!!

a lot of them just call in sick from exhaustion

exhaustion caused by doing all this rediclcuous posturing from the bureaucrats on high.

it is nothing to do with lots of sick breathless people.

it is all to do with crazy protocols that have made the system grind to a halt.

and the solution from the desk jockeys?

oh well, we really need you nurses , so even if you have it come to work!!!

now is that consistent?

and we have the public all fronting up for tests they dont need and to casualty when they dont need to and calling ambulances they dont need

and the media that caused this with their panic mongering, benefit off this by further panic mongering.

its a vicous cycle of panic and diaster that is causing panic and disaster.

the media should go out to gordons and he could do a sober explanation of how you can deal with this and not stress the system when the system is already hyper stressed.

but the media wont do that.

that wont attract eyeballs

everyone is in the media hypnosis that a diseas which, for the vast majority will cause  gordons type symptoms is really a species ending event.

its going to cost lives unless people start to unwind the hysteria.

and people who want to wind up the hysteria are reprehensible.
they are the ones who are selfish.

not the fine people who take personal resonsibility and look after themselves.

It's going to get thru the community eventually, always was.
So what is better, letting it get in before the majority are vaxxed or after?

The people for whom it won't be beer and skittles need to take personal responsibility and adjust their lives accordingly.
Both my parents are very ill and are doing just that.

Yup. She felt incredibly tired with body aches, temp was high but not scary high and oxy levels were fine. Hardly any coughing. Omni is much more upper than lower respiratory.

And I checked on her and wife every 2 hours because I'm a doting dad but more so the scare factor of being the dreaded covid.

All 3 of them are much better today with normal temps, just feeling a little tired, thanks for asking.

No contradiction. None.

Wife rated hers as a bad cold/mild flu

Daughter was tired, aching, bad headache, said she felt like she was hit by a truck but a total absence of lung involvement. More like a bad but quick head cold.
She's had worse colds than this.

4 year old got a temp mid afternoon and is normal today.

Yes, she said she felt like she was hit by a truck, I said she had a total absence of lung involvement.

It's interesting that rather than wanting to learn from my first hand observations of 3 covid patients you just want to be argumentative.

For all that are actually interested in what you may experience with Omi,
It comes on quickly and strong with a bad headache, fatigue, body aches and high temps and sweats.

The acute phase seems to be 24 hours.

Best relief is panadol, aspirin, iceblocks and coconut water.

Sure, hit by a truck for 24 hours. Hits hard, goes fast.
The best thing is no lung involvment.
