Would you take general health advice from Rogan or.....

Neither.

Covid and his testosterone supplementation aside (which he doesn't recommend)

The stuff he does talk about a lot.

Resistance training
Cardio
Eating within your caloric limit
Yoga
Cryotherapy (I think ice baths are  sufficient)
Sauna
Float tanks

Whatever Joe is doing, appears to work.
Whoopie, not so much.

Sure...But then he smokes a hell of alot... Does some heavy drugs and promotes them all (even suggested to Richard Dawkins he should drop some acid).

Yeah, I know he can handle it. But there sure are a lot of people who can't.

I think you need to give his audience a bit more credit for not running out and doing exactly what he does.

MJ is is fairly well tolerated but he's mentioned many times it doesn't agree with many.

He's never done coke and he talks about psychedelics as being something best done with supervision.

Yeah, maybe. But his audience is young, and when you're young, as you know, you think you're six foot four and bulletproof.

They're probably trying stuff anyway, and just say no doesn't seem to work, so better to have an old hand like Rogan speak candidly and analytically to young adults.

Just to clarify...

You asked: 'Would you take general health advice from Rogan or [Whoopie Goldberg]?'

To that, I'd say I would not take health advice from anyone other than someone qualified to give that advice.

Would I listen to Joe Rogan's personal experiences regarding managing his own health? Yes.

Somewhat splitting hairs but fair enough. Specific advice for someone, neither.
Getting the general vibe of what someone does, the list I posted, Rogan all day.

Not splitting hairs; we all have personal experiences on maintaining health, but few of us would elevate them to health advice.

I don't watch The View so can't comment on what health regimes Whoopie follows, but from her recent picture, I imagine it involves lots of pizza and Crispy Creme.

Joe speaks regularly about

Resistance training
Vigorous cardio
Yoga
Controlling caloric intake
Sauna
Cryo
Sleep

If people are actually too stupid to self limit what they do, I really can't mourn their loss for the gene pool.

Example, he's had some powerlifters on and I picked up a few tips that can personally apply but I'm not going to run out and try and triple my weights.

His general vibe is being active and eating well, and actually come to think of it, he doesn't tell people to go hard or go home, he just says get moving, get started, get off the couch. Some people actually need to be told that.

And that would be the point of being careful with advice.

Despite what we'd like to believe as an ideal, many people are too stupid to self-limit.

It's the old fallacy, 'if 2 pills are good for you, then 10 must be great'.

Oh of course the vibe ... it's the vibe your honour.  Grin
