The Magnitsky laws target all those corrupt meanies who need to keep their money in foreign banks. There's even a musical about them. Here:

Fun fact: when the Russians met with Jared Kushner and Don Junior in Trump Tower, it was the Magnitsky laws they wanted fixing, in return for all that jolly dirt on Hillary.

When Trump had those private off-the-record meetings with his friend Vlad, you can guarantee the Magnitsky laws were on the top of the agenda. How do we fix Putin?

We follow the money. Putin is the world's richest leader, along with his friends, a criminal organisation who run an economy the size of Italy. They have too much cash to store in the spare room, so they use foreign banks. Freezing their accounts makes them ever so mad.

It may not happen overnight but it will happen, no?
