It was possible Trump could have won a second term (until a few days after the election) and there's every reason to believe that Trump's obsession with Putin would lead to him not sanctioning against an invasion of Ukraine.

In Trump first term as president he introduced multiple sanctions against Russia starting on AUG 2 2017 and the last on DEC 5 2019, evidence and facts suggests he would have introduced more sanctions.

In 2017 Trump begrudgingly signed the sanctions legislation against Russia not because he approved of them but because it passed by veto-proof margins. He then criticised congress for it. When Putin responded by expelling 755 people from the American embassy and consulate staff, Trump responded by “thanking” Putin and saying he “greatly appreciated” the striking diplomatic move.

In 2018 when Putin won a sham election, White House officials asked Trump not to congratulate Putin. he ignored them and congratulated him anyway.

A few months later, Trump appeared alongside Putin in Helsinki, lashed out at US officials and announced that he considered Putin more reliable than his own country’s intelligence agencies.

At the end of 2018, Trump lifted Russian sanctions.

In 2019 a Russian-based cybercriminal organization called “Evil Corp” (not Putin or his government) was sanctioned for using malware to steal more than $100 million from banks and financial institutions.

So you can't find anything that refutes the chain of events, then.

Trump did not want to sanction or criticise Putin for any act. He had a fetish over Putin.

No, Trump would have loved to have been a war president.

And yet everything Trump said and did with Putin included lavish praise on Putin (up to and including publicly humiliating his own US security services).

What evidence do you have that Trump would have had the US take up arms against Putin?

Have you ever heard the expression, pissing in someone's pocket?

so you don't have any evidence that Trump would have had the US take up arms against Putin, but presume that he was only pissing in Putin's pocket.

Well Putin didn't invade under Trump, so that's proof right there  Grin

Maybe he thought Trump would win a 2nd term and remove the US from NATO.

If so, wrong bet.

That sounds like a plot twist from Scooby Doo  Grin Grin Grin

That's my line!

Except this plot's not contorted with elaborate stupidity.

I think we need to go with occam's razor on this one.
Putin kept it in his pants when Trump was Pres.
Now Putin is waving it all over the place.
Ergo, Biden couldn't convince Putin to keep it zipped up.

You saying Biden begged the wrong guy? 😳

I dont need to refute anything, Obama for instance congratulated Putin for winning in 2012, nothing unusual for the president to congratulate someone on winning an election, unless he is Trump of course. Trump never lashed out at security services, that just never happened. Its like arguing with a drunk at the pub.

Its all down to how you want to twist words to make the outcome what you want.

There was no bet, not with Valkie, not with Lisa, there was no lost bet.

You are a phoney, you are not called 'Bwian Ross', you do not have a brother called Daniel Ross, you are not a veteran but a pompous, vain old fool with a mail-order 'doktorate' and zero insight into your life long inadequacies.

That's your take on occam's razor?

The simplest possibility is that Putin waited to see if Trump would be president. That didn't happen.

Like the rest of the world, Russia too was hindered by covid for all of 2021.

Putin initiated pre-drawn plans for a Ukraine invasion in early 2022.

So he waited a year...CUNNING.

Nah, he saw the Afghanistan debacle and started planning.

Seeing cadaverous sock puppet Bidden's scramble for Kabul, Vlad saw it was his opportunity. The Ayatollah's and Xi are watching and taking note.

Bidden/Kamala??  Who could POSSIBLY take them seriously??? They embody Western nihilistic, identity-obsessed decadence.
Bidden was a prat-falling, accident prone fool when he had his marbles. The Kenyan prez Hussein O'Bama himself said so. Now he is a bewildered, accident prone fool in a personal fog.

Even Putin has said he'd been planning this for years.

Another part to Occam's razor.

Military action is best initiated in the early Spring or mid summer in that area of the world. Winter - too cold. Late spring - vehicles get bogged.

The earliest he could have started this was when he did - late February.

You really are a dribbling rocking retard. Planning and waiting for a good opportunity to execute a plan are two seperate things.

The way that Biden bungled the Afghanistan withdrawal was a loud and clear message to Putin. And this Democrat Rep agrees.

"But the reality is that in the minds of leaders like Putin or Xi Jinping in China, the victory of the Taliban and the American and NATO withdrawal was certainly heartening to them.

"It was not a great advertisement for American strength in the world right now, let's put it that way."

Yes. Putin calculated that he would have this wrapped up within 3 days.

Yesterday's mistake is today's victory.

Putin was misled into believing the US did not have the resolve to take him on, nor the will to stay in NATO.

Sucks to be him; and the world is watching and taking aim.

I'd bet his personal security has been exponentially enhanced.
