Evidence shows FBI, Biden campaign and Twitter worked together to suppress Hunter story

December 19, 2022

Members of the intelligence community, and censors at Twitter, stress that they just didn’t know the Hunter Biden laptop was real, so they erred on the side of caution. “It has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” the infamous letter from 50 former officials said.

Now we know that was a lie.

The FBI already had Hunter’s laptop — it was handed over to them by the owner of a Delaware repair shop, the same man who would provide it to The Post nearly a year later.

It’s also increasingly obvious that the FBI had a heads up that the information was about to be published.

The Twitter Files show how Yoel Roth, the platform’s head of trust and safety, was briefed by the FBI about possible “misinformation,” and that Hunter’s name was specifically brought up.

The latest bombshell, released Monday by journalist Michael Shellenberger, shows an intriguing timeline:

* The Post calls Hunter Biden’s lawyer for comment the day before publication.

* The lawyer calls John Paul Mac Isaac, the computer repairman. Side note, for all those who accused The Post of not doing due diligence on the laptop: We never provided the lawyer with Mac Isaac’s name. Told that we had Hunter’s laptop, he knew which repair shop to call, which provided another level of confirmation. Also: Hunter and the Biden campaign never denied the laptop was his, they just disparaged how we got it.

* A little more than two hours after the lawyer’s phone call to Mac Isaac, “FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan sends 10 documents to Twitter’s then-Head of Site Integrity, Yoel Roth, through Teleporter, a one-way communications channel from the FBI to Twitter,” Shellenberger writes. What’s in those documents? We don’t know, but …

* The Post publishes the first Hunter Biden story the next day, and Twitter moves almost immediately to ban us.

It’s impossible to believe that Chan and other officials in the FBI — not to mention the still-well-connected former intelligence operatives who signed that letter — didn’t know that Hunter Biden’s files were already in the wild. And that they knew they weren’t “hacked” or made up.

Knowing that eventually the information would leak, “experts” spent months prepping for how to suppress it. Shellenberger notes that in September 2020, a month before The Post broke the news, Roth “participated in an Aspen Institute ‘tabletop exercise’ on a potential ‘Hack-and-Dump’ operation.” The “example” they came up with? Hunter Biden! They outlined a fake scenario where Burisma documents were leaked online outlining payments to the former vice president’s son.

So, of course, when legitimate news about Hunter Biden did break, Roth was ready to doubt everything.

What the Twitter Files show is not caution, but a coordinated effort between the Biden campaign and the FBI to cast aspersions and limit the reach of a story damaging to Joe Biden.

Republicans have promised an investigation when they take control of the House, and we welcome more transparency. Our suggestion for first witnesses? Chan and Roth. What was in those 10 files? What did Chan already know about the Hunter Biden laptop? And what did he tell Twitter?

Perhaps then the rest of the press will decide that collusion between the FBI, a political campaign and a social media company is worthy of coverage.

Dnarever, those documents were declassified. Mr Trump said. A president just has to think they're declassified and they are. Read Wombat's link. That's the law.

Secondly, we don't know whether they were placed there by corrupt FBI agents. The Deep State is capable of anything these days. Slipping 33 boxes into Melania's panty drawers with three of Mr Trump's lawyers looking on would not be out of the question. We need to keep an open mind on this.

Besides, why were they going through Melania's drawers to begin with? Did they have a warrant? I think not.

Thirdly, a prez can do whatever he likes - executive privilege. Mr Trump didn't stop being the 45th president of the United States when he left office, he retains that title for life. If you go to Mar a Lago and happen to meet him in the dining room, you have to call him Mr President. The staff tell you that when you go in. There's a distinct protocol for these things. Tourists from around the world go there all the time, hoping to meet the great man.

Fourthly, Mr Trump's lawyers said he locked those documents up at the National Archives and Records Office's request. We can all rest assured: none of the tourists got their hands on them. Only staff would have gone into the basement, and that was just to check their messages or have a smoke or whatever. It was strictly staff only, okay?

And lastly, what's the big deal? They were just momentos from Mr Trump's time as prez, the best American president since maybe Lincoln. Why shouldn't he keep a few souvenirs of his time in office? You would - anybody would.

Look, Wombat's right. If you want to discuss a boring bit of paperwork, you should start another thread. We're here to discuss the biggest crime scene in the history of America: Hunter Biden's laptop.

If the leftards have a problem with that, they should take it up with FD.

That is BS. This is exactly what the republicans wanted the twitter files to say but they didn't.

Here the publisher clearly says that the FBI didn't do anything.

The Biden campaign asked for the Hunter dick picks which were against twitters terms of service to be taken down. The Trump team also had twitter remove tweets.

Again they are saying that they have the laptop - the same laptop that the FBI have. I still do not believe them.

What they had was some of the personal data stolen from the laptops hard drive.

The Twitter files show an extensive process involved in making that decision - It would have taken at least hours or longer. The story was re instated about 10 hours later, The story was always available from other sources especially the NYT web site.

I think that we all remember that we here had all read the story when it was released.

America First Legal Launches Investigation Into John Brennan, James Clapper and the Deep Security State Over Efforts to Sabotage Democracy and Free Elections

WASHINGTON, D.C
December 22, 2022

Today, America First Legal (AFL) filed a set of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) as part of a comprehensive investigation of the intelligence community’s involvement in the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.

In December 2019, the FBI obtained Hunter Biden’s laptop. It knew, at all times relevant, that the laptop, and its thousands of records showing Biden family corruption and influence peddling, were genuine. Nevertheless, the FBI hid the evidence from Senate investigators probing the Biden family’s corruption during the spring and summer of 2020. Instead, the FBI amplified Democrat efforts to protect Joe Biden by discrediting the probe as “Russian disinformation” via fake “defensive briefings” and leaks to the Washington Post.

On September 23, 2020, after months of delay and obstruction, Senators Charles Grassley and Ron Johnson issued their report and made public all witness interview transcripts and exhibits. The report found, among other things, that “Hunter Biden was not the only Biden who cashed in on Joe Biden’s vice presidency.” Democrat politicians and information organs again resorted to the Russian disinformation ruse. For example, the New York Times quoted Sen. Chuck Schumer as saying that the report read “as if Putin wrote it, not United States senators”, and claimed that it overlapped with “a Russian disinformation campaign that [unnamed] American intelligence officials have said is designed to denigrate Mr. Biden.”

On October 14, 2020, the New York Post reported that Hunter Biden’s laptop contained emails showing Joe Biden’s corruption and influence peddling. The FBI had been sitting on this evidence for months and knew that the emails were genuine. Nevertheless, it immediately attacked. Then, on October 19, 2020, 51 former intelligence officials including John Brennan, Jim Clapper, and Michael Hayden signed a letter claiming the laptop was a “Russian information operation.” This letter, a key part of the intelligence community’s pro-Biden information and propaganda operation, was swiftly disseminated by the Democrat’s allied media organs. Together, Democrat politicians, the FBI, and their allies in the media and Big Tech, suppressed the evidence.

AFL is determined to help uncover the intelligence community’s collusion to deceive American voters and pollute the 2020 Presidential election.

Statement from Reed D. Rubinstein, America First Legal Senior Counselor and Director of Oversight:

“In 2016, partisan FBI and intelligence community officials manufactured ‘Russia collusion’ first to discredit the Trump campaign and then to hamstring his presidency. In 2020, many of these same officials manufactured “Russian misinformation” to protect Joe Biden by suppressing Hunter Biden’s laptop and burying the evidence of Biden family political corruption and influence peddling. Such brazen election interference must be exposed and punished. AFL looks forward to working with our friends in the new Congress to expose the truth,” said Reed Rubinstein.
